Responsibilities included measuring, defining and analyzing a given process and reducing waste and streamlining the process. Project requires managing teams of key people to help follow the project through and implement. Teams are from all over the Shipyard and requires an extensive study of each department involved.

Creating and managing total schedules for both naval and commercial ship contracts. Responsible for understanding the entire build process and all resources required, including trades, materials, and labor budgeting for successful construction. Guarantee proper sequencing of material installation to insure there are no interferences between trades responsible for proper installation. Balancing of budget and schedule variance and act as liaison between customer and planning if interference does occur. Forecast staffing requirements and ensures that all schedules prepared are well structured and fully integrated with subcontractors and/or external suppliers. Analyzes the results of schedule risk assessments and optimizes the schedule to ensure low risk schedule, and prepares planning related presentations and analyses of findings for review by production management and customer.
Electrical Detail Planner

Planning and scheduling workflow using MRP and other planning tools for each department and operation to ensure proper supply is available to fulfill customer’s demands. Communicates information to internal customers. Maintains work orders and purchase orders. Coordinates with other departments to expedite materials and information as needed. Manages customer care requests to expedite or change our customer’s requirements. Interfaces with inventory control to create a plan that utilizes our on hand inventory. Analyzes and interprets the construction of BOMs and specifications to determine the content and plan manageable work elements. Manages work order changes and or cancellations.

Strong Computer Skills: Deltek Open Plan, MRP and ERP systems for creating total schedule of ships total construction. Microsoft office, excel, project, outlook and power point and various drafting programs including AUTOCAD. Fluent in the interpretation of all blueprints including structural (steel), electrical, pipe, ventilation, and outfitting. Also familiar with all government ISO 9000 procedures and standards.
