Life Support Project Manager, Lockheed Martin Missiles & Space; Sunnyvale, CA; 1996 to 1999

Lead Project Engineer and Manager responsible for space flight life support systems development.

• Defined and designed astronaut spaceflight life support systems, emergency breathing systems and operational procedures, developed supplier relationships and hardware & software delivery schedules resulting in project definition.

• Managed electronics and mechanical engineering teams for the development, manufacture and test of analog and digital data collection systems, resulting in completion and spaceflight of NOAA and USAF weather satellites.

• Completed electronic circuit and avionics systems test, integration, analysis, report generation, and personnel and repair coordination resulting in the spaceflight of multiple NOAA and USAF weather satellite avionics packages.

Spaceflight Life Support Systems Project Lead, KRUG Life Sciences; Houston, Texas; 1992 to 1996

Completed project leadership, engineering, electronic & mechanical hardware design, test and integration of astronaut life support systems for spaceflight aboard NASA Space Shuttle and Space Station.

• Designed and tested electronic and mechanical life support equipment resulting in integration within NASA's Space Station and Space Shuttle.

• Designed biomedical & voice data command and telemetry architectures resulting in NASA medical electronics subsystem approval.

• Directed and performed spaceflight electronic and mechanical life support systems design testing in NASA aircraft, high pressure and zero-gravity environments and water test facilities, resulting in NASA hardware certification.

General Offshore Oilfield Project Management and Construction

• Completed worldwide offshore construction management functions including dive team supervisor, commercial diving deck operations lead and seismic survey shift supervisor, using all forms of offshore vessels and sub sea construction and survey equipment resulting in platform and subsea project completions.

• Performed seismic survey electronics field engineering using analog and digital data acquisition systems including magnetometers, side-scan sonar and 1-mile streamer cables, resulting in oil deposit mapping sales.

• Performed offshore platform and pipeline tie-in construction and repair using all forms of offshore marine vessels.

Submarine Construction

• Performed Professional Deep Sea Diving with international corporations for the construction and inspection of worldwide offshore oil platforms and submarine systems and installations, including telecommunications installations.

• Performed professional diving beyond 500 feet of seawater using all advanced forms of professional deep sea diving equipment and technology including surface supplied mixed gas, bell bounce and saturation diving.

Submarine Life Support & ROV Systems Design

• Performed electronic and mechanical installation, calibration, systems test, service and operation of all forms of subsea intervention systems including: commercial deep sea mixed gas saturation diving life support systems, heliox mixers, gas reclaim systems, communications, hyperbarics and medical life support systems; remotely operated vehicles (ROVs) and One-Atmosphere diving systems such as ARMS-Bell, JIM, WASP and Delta submersibles.
