Current project: Conversion of Cable Laying Ship “Kraka” into the world's first dynamically positioned (DP) Accommodation & Support Vessel (ASV) “Dan Swift” for offshore and DP operations;

* Provide broad range of electrical, propulsion, and mechanical engineering services to German-based shipbuilder. Addressed power distribution and automation systems design issues, including troubleshooting integration of new systems.



Senior Electrical Engineer, General Dynamics/NASSCO, San Diego, CA (2008)

* Facilitated engineering and construction of new oil tanker and T-AKE class of ships.

* Delivered power distribution solutions crafted by Korean engineering design firm.



Senior Electrical Engineer, Northrop Grumman, San Diego, CA (2005 – 2007)

Project worked: Power Distribution Design of Battlefield Airborne Communications Node (BACN);

* Led a small group of engineers in design of power distribution network for state-of-the-art telecommunications suite based on wide variety of electronic components and COTS products;

Project worked: Design and Analysis of Engineering Control System (ECS) for DD(X) Class – Multi-Mission Destroyer;

* Prepared electrical installation diagrams, automation drawings, and multiple automation equipment interface databases;

* Conducted preliminary design and trade study analysis of Engineering Control System (ECS);

Project worked: Final delivery of Gas Turbine Powered Military Sealift Command Marine Pre-Positioning Force Ship (T-AK 3016 “Roy M. Wheat”)

* Prepared technical specifications, wrote procurements, and coordinated new equipment installations to upgrade 24VDC power supply system;

* Modified ship’s one-line and wiring diagrams to as-built status;

* Assisted crews in interpreting control and one-line diagrams;

* Developed “Periodic Test Procedures” that aided in test and commissioning of automation systems;

* Directed infrared power survey of cable installations and electrical equipment, and provided sound recommendations for correcting communication cable EMI / EMC problems;

Marine Electrical Engineer, AMSEC LLC, SAIC, Virginia Beach, VA (1996 – 2003)

Project worked: Conversion of Gas Turbine Powered RO/RO Cargo Ship into Military Sealift Command Marine Pre-Positioning Force Ship

* Created, updated, and aided in translating complex wiring, control, and automation diagrams;

* Conducted ship-checks in UK & Ukraine, obtaining all documentation and material samples necessary to win contract;

* Procured equipment, coordinated installations, and tested automation and electrical equipment during sea trials;

* Prepared specs for conversion of power plant main distribution system, supervised initial testing of equipment; leveraged results to reduce overload currents on electric motors;

* Seamlessly integrated new Machinery Centralized Control System with existing ship’s systems and SULZER diesel generators to meet ABS, USCG, SOLAS, IEEE and NEC requirements.
