Objective


My goal is to secure employment in the maritime industry working in the Gulf of Mexico on an ATB,ITB,or OSV as O/S Deckhand where with hard work, I can work into a position as A/B.

Pressrooom Manager From 10/2003 to 7/2007

Directed pressroom operations and press crews in a commercial printing enviorment. working closely on a dialy basis with our sales force and customers during the production run. Maintianed inventory of supplies for the operation and delt with outside contractors as needed. Trouble shoot printing problems mechanical and material related. Continually reviewed upcoming jobs with crews and kept constant eye on quality of product.

Pressroom Supervisor From 10/2001 to 10/2003

Directed the operations of press crews and press rooms during the night shift. Check and maintian qulity levels required. Wrote annuaul employee reviews and miantianed shop records. Set up materials through shipping and plate departments for upcoming jobs. Performed some heavy miantenance at night while some equipment had down time.

6 Color Web Pressman From 1/1999 to 7/2001

Ran and directed the press crew in the operation and miantenance of the press line. Worked with customers on color OK's etc. Forced to leave due to permanent reduction of work force.

4 Color Web Pressman From 1995 to 12/1998

Hired for the purpose of having input into the rebiuld and reconfiguration of a pressline to produce the product needed. Worked closley with the facility engineer and the rebiulder in Chicago to modifey this equipment to suit our needs. After the rebiuld assisted the riggers during installation and setup. Trained all the crews on the equipment and once up and running ran the press and directed my crew. I contributed to or designed many modifications that were made to improve performance of this line.

Skils


Highly skilled mechanically, able to read and interpret blue prints. Extensive background in the repiar and miantenance of high preasure pneumatic and hydraulic devices and systems. Familiar with safe work practices lock out tag out, working in confined spaces, MSDS system, de-energizing of equipment prior to maintenance operations where needed etc. I am familiar with the use of a wide range of hand tools. Also have some limited diesel background from time spent working in a granite quarry garage servicing fork lifts, road tractors and cranes.


 


I realize that I come to this with no commericial maritime experience. However it is my belief the I have such a wide background of experience to bring to the job that I can prove to be a valuable, hard working and dependable employee. Even though I have no commercial time on the water for the last 20 years I have operated on a variety of vessels both sail and power up to 67 feet. Now it is my dream to make a living on the water.
