? Monitored the availability , use, and condition of life saving equipments and pollution preventatives, in order to ensure that international regulations are followed.
? Monitored engine, machinery, and equipment indicators when vessels are underway, and reported abnormalities to appropriate shipboard staff and to other line management team.
? Maintained electrical power, heating, ventilation, refrigeration, water, and sewerage systems.
? Maintained boilers as per makers requirements and tested & treated the water regularly.
? Maintained other auxiliary machineries like air compressors, emergency generators, fire pumps, fire monitoring & alarm systems.
? Recorded orders for changes in ship speed and direction, and noted gauge readings and test data, such as revolutions per minute and voltage output, in engineering logs and bellbooks.
? Performed and participated in emergency drills as required.
? Maintained complete records of engineering department activities, including machine operations.
? Started engines to propel ships, and regulate engines and power transmissions to control speeds of ships, according to directions from captains or bridge computers.
? Monitored and tested operations of engines and other equipment so that malfunctions and their causes can be identified.
? Maintained and repaired engines, electric motors, pumps, winches and other mechanical and electrical equipment, or assist other crew members with maintenance and repair duties.
? Performed general marine vessel maintenance and repair work such as repairing leaks, finishing interiors, refueling, and maintaining decks.
? Repaired and maintained the ship in a state of readiness at all times.
? Maintains potable water and auto chlorination system.
? Maintains black water/gray water/waste tanks, treatment, and testing program.
? Monitors and ensures completion of all deficiencies noted in Cabin Maintenance Notebook.
? Oversees all bunkering operations and ensures safety and environmental compliance.
? Participates in yearly shipyards.
? Monitor and counsel work performance throughout the year, and conducts annual written performance evaluations.
? Keep vessel maintenance records, inventories and voyage status reports. Make proposals for maintenance and repair projects.
? Oversees all accounting reports, inventory and requisitions regarding equipment maintenance.
? Follows company safety and pollution prevention policies and procedures and will request supervisory assistance/guidance when necessary.
? Conducts periodic inspections to ensure that crew observe regulations pertaining to safe vessel operation.
? Prepares the vessel for all U.S. Coast Guard annual dry-docks and other inspections.
? Participates in shore side training as required by the company.
? Maintains familiarity with the ISM/ISPS requirements.
? Maintains familiarity with all duties under the company Safety Management System and Environmental Management System including Emergency Response Activities.

? Degree in Marine Engineering ( November/1989 – Novenber/1993 )
