Managed projects, directing 100 employee production departments for ship repair projects with sales up to $30 million.



Increased local sales by $100,000 by negotiating and securing a Bay Area Distributorship with Industrial Hardware. This included providing Sales and Technical Service to all Bay Area Shipyards, Vessel Managers and Owners.



Expanded and developed sound customer relationships, thereby creating repeat business, both foreign and domestic.



Developed both foreign and domestic coating specifications for topside and new environmentally safe underwater hull coatings. Over 20 of these specifications and bid proposals were presented and successfully negotiated.



Provided customers with detailed knowledge of ship’s equipment and repair procedures.



Administered more than sixty Commercial & Government contracts including solicitation development, bonding, and supervision and invoicing.

Senior Account Executive, Marine Coatings 2002 to 2009



Responsibilities:

Account Management, Sales and Technical Service. Responsible for 3 million in annual sales revenue. Managed four major accounts: Chevron Shipping, American President Lines, Matson Navigation and Industrial Hardware. Attended joint drydock preplanning meetings, performed on site inspections, developed and submitted specifications tailored to each individual project. Presented and upgraded coatings as new environmentally-friendly products were launched.



Bay Ship and Yacht Co., Alameda, CA



Commercial Sales Manager 1999 to 2002



Responsibilities: Established a new satellite office located in the Port of Richmond. Initiated, developed, and managed qualified personnel to accomplish maintenance / emergent work on a time and material basis. This office location was set up to focus on servicing Matson Navigation lay-up vessels, Foss Maritime’s “Richmond Home Dock” and Crowley Marine’s Tugs and Barges.

Government Sales Manager 1997 to 1999



Responsibilities: I assisted in the development of Bay Ship and Yacht’s Fleet Service Division. Initiated, developed, and managed a Government Sales and Customer Relations Production Team. This division was set up to focus on servicing growing MARAD work presence in the Bay Area, working as an independent profit center from the main shipyard. Reviewed, estimated and submitted bid proposals. Maintained customer contact and data base in way of current and up coming work loads for all MARAD Western Region ROS vessels. Maintained customer contact and data base in way of up coming work.



Government and Commercial Contracts Manager 1995 to 1997



Responsibilities: Managed Government and Commercial Contract related issues. Managed timely submittal of invoicing and receivables. Reviewed, estimated and submitted bid proposals, inclusive of bonding requirements. After job award, maintained & oversaw all contract related requirements inclusive of scheduling, estimating / negotiating change work, progress billings and associated contract required data.

Government and Commercial Accounts Manager 1990 to 1995



Project Manager, Navy AOR Phased Maintenance 1985 to 1988

Responsibilities:

Managed a five year 30 million dollar DOD Cost Plus Incentive Fee Phased Maintenance Program for five Navy Auxiliary Oiler Replenishment (AOR) Vessels. I performed all the duties of the PMP Manager and was responsible for all aspects of the project. I lead and directed cross-functional teams to deliver the repairs within the constraints of the schedule, budget and resources. Responsibility for this project was meeting cost, scope, deliverables and schedule projections.



Repair Superintendent, Navy AOR Phased Maintenance 1980 to 1985

Responsibilities:

Directed a 100 employee production department and sub-contractors for the repair and maintenance delegated by the PMP Manager.
