Captain of various ferry vessels on the Galveston-Bolivar passage. Shore duties include ensuring vessel readiness for U.S. Coast Guard inspections. Ferry vessel dry dock representative.

Port Captain/Operations Manager, 1995-11/2008

Hired initially for the position of Mate and served in this role for 5 years. Obtained 1600 Ton Masters License in 2001 and served as the Captain of the M/V American Pioneer until promoted to Port Captain position in June 2005. This title changed to Operations Manager in October of 2007. Responsibilities of this position include ensuring vessel readiness for U.S. Coast Guard and ABS inspections, management of the Streamlined Inspection Program, completion and investigation of incident/accident reports, scheduling of vessel crews, recruiting, interviewing, and hiring new staff, conducting personnel evaluations, implementing training programs and establishing wage incentives.

Mate-Gyre Research Vessel, 1990-1995

Hired initially has an Able-Bodied Seaman and served in this role for 4 years. Obtained 1600 Ton Mates License and served in this role until 1995.
