MASTER of the M/V SP5 ERIC G. GIBSON (a 36,026 DWT container/RO-RO/Bulk Cargo vessel operating mainly in the Far and Middle Eastern trades). Duties included: Navigation, Piloting, Ship handling, Supervising the maintenance of the vessel, as well as, stability, cargo ops; and, training of personnel. Left due to vessel sold for scrap.

4/08-7/09

MASTER of the M/V APL BALBOA (a 10,488 DWT container vessel operating in the Middle Eastern trade mainly between Dubai, Jebel Ali, Kuwait, Iraq, Saudi Arabia and Pakistan). Duties included: Navigation, Piloting, Ship handling, Supervising the maintenance of the vessel as well as oversee stability and cargo ops. Left to take over the “Gibson.”

MASTER of the M/V ADVANTAGE (a 25,000 DWT multi-purpose vessel operating mainly in the World Wide PL480 program). Duties included: Navigation, Piloting, Ship handling, Supervising the maintenance of the vessel, as well as, oversee stability, cargo ops and training of crew. Fell out of rotation.

BAY SHIP MANAGEMENT, INC. 270 Sylvan Ave., Englewood Cliffs, NJ. 07632

MASTER of the USNS SHUGHART (T-AKR-295) - A NASSCO converted LMSR previously stationed in the Arabian Gulf and Diego Garcia. Duties included: Bringing vessel through RAV, PSA, shakedowns and inspections, etc. I helped bring the ship through extensive USCG and MSC inspections to get vessel ready for MSC service in the Pre-Positioning Program. Duties also included: Navigation, Piloting, Ship handling, Supervising the maintenance of the vessel, as well as, oversee stability, cargo ops and training of crew. Left due Bay Ship lost MSC contract.

(13 years) PACIFIC-GULF MARINE, INC. 401 Whitney Ave., Suite 511, Gretna, LA

MASTER of the M/V SUGAR ISLANDER (a 29,984 DWT Bulk Carrier). Duties included: Navigation, Piloting, Ship handling, Supervising the maintenance of the vessel; as well as, oversee stability and cargo ops. I was a major contributor in instituting the “Shipboard/Shoreside Management Team” concept of operation. I left this company due to the sale of the vessel ford due lack of cargo.


Education


* B.S. in Nautical Science from Maine Maritime Academy (graduated 05/30/1968).

* Advanced Studies in Ship Handling, Navigation, STCW, MSC and other regulatory courses through AMO in Dania, FL & Toledo, OH as well as other private .


Certification


* Master of Steam and Motor Vessels of any gross tons upon Oceans (exp. 01/17/18).

* STCW II/1, II/2, II/4, II/5, IV/1, VI/2, VI/3, VI/4, VI/5, VI/6 including ECDIS
