MARITIME BACKGROUND:
1963-1982: son of Naval Officer, numerous boating/yachting and maritime activates; eagle scout.
1986 Graduate Maine Maritime Academy, Deck Officer/Nautical Science.
1983-1994: US Naval Reserve (Merchant Marine Reserve) Lt Jg. Honorable Discharge; Top Secret Security Clearance.
1988-1990: SEACOR MARINE, New Orleans. Mate, OSV, North Atlantic, North Sea, Gulf of Mexico, Caribbean. Responsible for safe navigation, boat handling, & managing crew.
1990-1992: SEA EDUCATION ASSOCIATION, Woods Hole, Mass., Mate, Oceanographic Research Vessels, Arctic Waters. Responsible for safe navigation, boat handling, managing crew, training crew, and working with Scientific Staff to achieve missions.
1992-1995: SEACLOUD CRUISES GMBH, Hamburg, Germany. Mate, Worldwide Operations. Responsible for safe navigation, vessel handling, vessel safety, efficient interaction with multinational coworkers, managing crew, training crew, interacting with multinational passengers, and working with Service Staff.
1994-1997: CHEVRON & WEST AFRICA OFFSHORE, Warri, Nigeria. Vessel Captain & Mooring Master of Super Tanker offshore Mooring Station, Escravos Station & Camp. Responsible for safe navigation in coastal West African waters & on Niger River, extensive boat handling, managing crew, training crew, conforming to CHEVRON safety standards, efficient interaction with multinational coworkers, working with locals, logistic management from a remote location, and experience in living in a remote base camp.
1989-2003: TALL SHIPS VICTORY CHIMES, ROSE, CORWITH CRAMER, WESTWARD: Sailing Mate of these Tall Ships in various locations as my free time between the jobs above allowed.
1998-2006: GROOVY HOLIDAYS, New York. Responsible for all Operational Logistics between Guangzhou (China) factory, Hong Kong shipping offices, New Jersey warehouse.
BUSINESS AND MANAGEMENT BACKGROUND:
1998-2006: GROOVY HOLIDAYS INC. Founder & Chief Operations Officer: Started a wholesale company that provides retail stores throughout North America our line of children's accessories & decorations. Responsibilities included creating and managing budget, shipping & product scheduling, marketing, product development, negotiating with Indian & Chinese vendors as well as frequent trips to manage those relationships. As of today the company has a US sales force of 72 people, NY Office staff of 4, team of 3 designers, five showrooms in North America, our contract factory in Guangzhou, China, and our contract warehouse in NJ. As mentioned above, I have just negotiated the sale of 50% of the corporation to a group of investors however I will remain on the board of directors and will retain 50% of the corporation's shares.

As a 1986 graduate of Maine Maritime Academy I have spent the majority of my career on the water: Captain, Mate, Mooring Master, etc; the last six years as the founder & Chief Operations Officer at Groovy Holidays, Inc overseeing all aspects of global corporate logistics. I have just sold 50% of the corporation and am applying for jobs overseas to give my children the same experiences that I had as a child and adult (much of my childhood and adult life was spent abroad; I have lived in Turkey, England, Nigeria, Columbia, as well as various locations in the USA). My family and I are well traveled, we all have US Passports, we all speak multiple languages, and we are ready and willing to make a move as required.
