Position: Planning Superintendent



Perform a broad range of supervisory responsibilities over planning and production team member.

Responsible for every ship’s project determining quality, time, cost and resource allocation.

Involve in analysis of production processes, work methods, procedures and setting up of different shipbuilding norms.

Develop project schedule that includes design and other information requirements, procurement schedule and identify long lead equipment and material items, production construction and outfitting schedule, testing and trials of ship’s various system.

Responsible for the implementation of proper up front planning and a method to monitor the plan throughout the operation.

Co-ordinates planned work activities of all production team members on the structural and outfitting works. Liaises with the Project Manager and Trade Supervisors for the co-ordination and implementation of work activities.

Plans, develops and implements materials and document control systems to provide optimum service levels for the operation department’s requirements.

Prepare vessel block and zone breakdown drawings and structural process analysis.

Responsible for the preparation and issuance of overall shipyard, shop and equipment capacity plan.

Responsible for the operation manpower loading, estimate and requirement per project

Prepare high level tender schedule and labor estimate for new vessel construction and submit to Marketing Department for tender requirements.

Attend project meetings and discuss/resolve outstanding issues.

Ensure breakdown of the production budget man-hours into the overall schedule are properly distributed and relate to ADSB Work Breakdown Structure (WBS).

Setting up of production progress data and S-curves.

Analyze new construction build strategy, block & zone breakdown, yard capacity, shop capacity, equipment capacity, manning plan and work flow.

Develop various reports in database in order to facilitate the weekly progress and other reports required by operation department.

Involve in job stock/material and production labor process improvement program.

Responsible for the yearly evaluation of production planners, schedulers and controllers.

Develop various report layouts in Vantage System and conduct in-house training for planning/scheduling/controlling section and other production staff.

Demonstrates continuous effort to improve planning, scheduling and controlling section to decrease time effort in producing and obtaining various reports.

Store and retrieve planning documents using the network Document Management System (DMS).

Position: Planning Supervisor

Job Responsibilities:

Project coordination with design engineering, material engineering, purchasing, production team and test engineers.

Duties are assemble team member of the Planning Department, Program and Project Supervisors, and Production Staff, in order to establish required reporting and procedural formats for a new project. Assigns tasks to individual Production Controllers once overall direction for that particular project has been established.

Prepare and issue project work packages including drawing required for manufacturing and installation.

Assist design engineering in development of 3D modeling and isometric drawings.

Supervises and assists Production Planners, Schedulers and Controllers in the performance of the following tasks:

o Preparation of high level production schedules

o Preparation of level 4 progress data identifying all the activities.

o Preparation and tracking of condition reports

o Preparation and tracking of operations agenda for projects

o Coordination of project requirements in terms of materials, resources, facilities, engineering support and information

o Gathering of data and preparation of various forms of progress reports.

o Preparation of man-hour breakdowns, recovery plans, and project man-hour distribution.

o Preparation of work packages using the zone by stage method.

o Monitoring and determining proper resource and capacity allocations.

Position: Planner / Scheduler / Controller

Job Responsibilities:

Preparation of baseline schedules, resources and manning curves in Primavera. Monitor/update the live schedule throughout the project completion, check and update the relationship of activity’s that has negative float by examining the remaining duration, predecessor and successor. Ensure the activity will not delay the project finish date.

Report and discuss to Project Manager all key events that becoming potential bottlenecks or critical and recommend a recovery plan.

Issue four weeks look ahead of the current schedule to Production showing the baseline dates, current dates, actual dates and actual physical progress.

Identify all the activities (approximate 5,000 line items) from issuance of drawings from Design Engineering, raising of material purchase requisition from Material Engineering, placing of material purchase orders from Purchasing Dep’t and receipt of materials on site, construction and outfitting by Operation Dep’t.

Identify Level 4 blocks steel work content and measure the joint length in order to obtain the correct progress data and man-hour estimates for hull and superstructure.

Identify Level 4 zone/compartment outfit work content from heavy hotworks, light hotworks, painting activities, heavy cold work and light cold works. Outfitting works such as the electrical, mechanical, insulator, painter, sheetmetal, pipefitter and carpenter.

Visit the ship’s project and production shop and obtain the actual physical progress.

Preparation of project control and analysis reports/presentations such as charts (S-curves), physical performance ratio, and budget performance ratio.

Responsible for Operations workload schedules for Overall Planned Manpower Projection and Requirements.

Prepare and issue monthly shipyard loading capacity for long term projects.

Prepare in Auto CAD and issue steelwork process analysis i.e. new build block breakdown and zone breakdown.

Calculate the weight of all blocks and make sure that the lifting capacity of steel shop and assembly hall are not over the limit.

Develop and implement computer programs in Excel and Database for work Progress, S-Curves reporting, Cumulative/Weekly Booking and Materials on Order Report.
