RESPONSIBILITIES

At Painting Yard (Subcontractor’s such as NBTC, JCC, SBC & RAYMOND INTERNATIONAL)

• Based on Project Variation (PV) Check the cleanliness and roughness of blasted surface as per the specification by using replica tape.
• Coating inspection as per KNPC standard.
• Witness of Adhesion test such as Dolly, Crosscut.
• Surveillance the record ambient conditions before starting each coat of Paint application at shop.
• Calibrate the gauges such as D.F.T gauge etc.
• Maintain Calibration certificates of all Painting related equipment and Paint Batch certificates.
• Surveillance of mixing & thinning, Induction, pot life, DFT & WFT values during the application time.

• Witness to check the paint thickness by using D.F.T Gauges (SSPCPA2) after each coat.
• Check the inter-coat cleanliness before each coat and ensure stripe coat at weld joints.
• Inspect and maintain records of final D.F.T.

At site: Painting Related (Subcontractor’s such as NBTC, JCC & SBC)

• Check the line as per isometric drawing and ensure correct Painting systems according to process temperature of the line.
• Check the Chloride, Cleanliness and Roughness of blasted surface as per the specification and using replica tape
• Surface preparation and painting inspection of weld joints after hydro test.
• Surveillance of Holiday test (High Voltage Type), Dolly, Crosscut (adhesion).
• Conduct the required test as per the requirements.
• Arrange final Inspection at site after cosmetic coat.
• Inspection co-ordination & records maintaining.
• Check and maintain Inspection reports and update in system.
• Attending inspection with Client before getting NFI.
• Get the approval of Inspection reports from Client inspector.
• Calibration of all Inspection equipment’s like D.F.T gauge, Hygrometer, profile gauge etc.

RESPONSIBILITIES

• Inspection of all Blasting & Painting Activities carried out at Work shop as well as on Site at every step.
• Preparation of ITP.
• Carry out all sorts of test (Instruments) as per ITP.
• Observation of Corrosion/ Pitting’s will be intimated to Client for the remedial actions.
• Inspection of all incoming materials related to Blasting & Painting activities.
• Weather Monitoring such as Air Temperature, Relative Humidity, Dew point
  temperature and recording it in log books.
•  Verification of Batch Certificates of Abrasives & Paints, Calibration certificates of all Instruments / Equipment.
• Verify the Cleanliness of surface area.
•  Verify the qualification of Blaster/Painters.
• Anchor Pattern/Profile check of the blasted surface and ensure profile is
  as per project specification.
•  Ensure traceability of the Material at all stages of Painting and during
  blasting.
• Verify Soluble Salt Contamination on Blasted surface using Bresel Salt
  Kit.
• Ensure mixing and thinning as per Manufacturer's Technical Data Sheet.
• Inspection of Airless Spray applications.
•  Inspection of coatings before, during and after application.
•  Ensure painters using proper Tip sizes during application as per
  Manufacturers recommendations.
•  Monitor Induction Time, Pot life and continuous agitations whenever
  required.
• Ensuring DFT & WFT of various coating system is as per project
  specification.
•  Inspection of various types of coatings.
• Inspection of various coating failures at all stages.
• Heading all functions such as Recording all rejection, corrective action
  and preventive action.
• Calibrating Instruments and maintain Calibration status.
• Ensure degree of curing of coatings at each stage and ensure overcoat
  intervals
• Ensure touch up works carried out fully in site prior to final
  inspection.

• Conduct visual inspection on coated/painted surface and verify the wet and dry film thickness. Pressure record and/or report of complete works among other.
• Carry out inspection of surface preparations, painting works for compliance with the approved Inspection and Test Plan and Quality requirements as per client's Specification. Visual Inspection of Painting works.
• Conduct visual inspection on all equipment to use to ensure equipment is calibrated and in good operating condition.
• Conduct in process and final inspection of painted/coated pipe surface including platforms prior to delivery and installation at site.
