Objective
To obtain work as a wiper with a company that allows advancement. I am waiting for approval to test for QMED ratings now and want to progress to a licensed engineer position.
Experience
Jan. 08 through Oct. 08. Wiper, MV McArthur, Blackwater Maritime Solutions. Duties included routine cleaning and maintenance of all engine machine spaces, maintaining and organizing spares and inventory, sounding fluid tanks, routine battery checks, assist engineering staff with mechanical repairs, and regular reports, assist with start up and shut down of EMD mains and GMC generators, maintain strainers and bilges, watch standing, assist with bunkering and refueling, assist with shore connections and disconnections and other assigned duties.
June 06 through Feb. 07, Deckhand, P and L Towing, Various Tugs. Duties included ship towing and docking assist, barge hook up and tow, assist with dredging operations (subcontracted through Bean and Weeks Marine), line handling and maintenance, vessel repair and maintenance, including engines and generators, watch standing, keeping engine log and other duties as assigned.
