Objective
To obtain an OS/deckhand position aboard a US flagged vessel
Experience
240 days sea time as ordinary Seaman aboard 2 US flagged Cruise ships in Pacific Northwest/Alaska- as well as bering Sea Deckhand experience (2009) aboard the SS ocean Phoenix- 680 foot fish processor.
*Watch standing-lookout
*Helmsman duties (supervised by mate)
*Crane forklift and davit operations
*Repairs to lines/nets/gear
*Gangway setup and security
*Tying/untying vessel to docks, pilings,dolphins,bollards
*Transiting Locks
*Vessel Maintenance
*Safety Inspections
*Small Boat operations- Zodiac and Skiff
*Passenger drills
*Weekly Fire/DC/Man Overboard/Abandon Ship/Security Drills
*Served on primary fire team and rescue boat team
*Vessel cleaning/pressure washing
*Responded to multiple medical emergencies
*Assisted passengers with embarking/disembarking
*Assisted with stores/trash
*Other duties as needed
