Founder /owner operator

Owner of yacht repair and maintenance business, absentee owner boat watch service. Performed all aspects of marine repair, and maintenance. I supervised employees, gave customer's estimates, wrote job proposals, performed all aspects of running a business from accounting, and management to day to day operations, to execution of work aboard yachts and work boats. This included, but was not limited to, oil/filter/fluids/ changed, hydraulic systems serviced, painting, batteries replaced and maintained. NWYC Installed such gear as davits, windlasses, marine toilets, electronic instruments, wiper systems, and more. Over head and stationary Crane operator’s experience. USCG 100 Ton captain, with TWIC Card (Transportation Worker's Identity Card) STCW 95 (Z Card) near coastal, sailing and towing endorsement, AB (Able Bodied Seaman) . I have extensive experience dealing with USCG, and Army Corps in Vessel certification, and regulation, as well as other regulating authorities and bureaucracies. I have always had to a gift for negotiating, collaborating and bringing people together to resolve issues and problems. I'm very articulate, and am able to write letters, grants, and proposals. I have always prided myself on being able to deal with all kinds of people, in all kinds of situations. I know how to read and understand income and balance sheets, I have always had an active role in the finance, payroll and management of the companies I've owned or worked for.



Hat Island Community Inc Ferry Boat Captain May 2008 to September 2008

Operated passenger Ferry Holiday between Everett and Hat Island Washington, with occasional charters. Responsible for Vessel and crew management, passenger safety and comfort as well as routine engine and general maintenance. Interfaced with Port of Everett and United States Coast Guard for certificate of Inspection. Also operated 65' LCM (landing craft) ferrying vehicles, building materials and larger loads to Hat Island.

Yacht “STARSHIP” Navigator Pilothouse 61' Motor Yacht 2004 to Present

Yacht “Boatylicious” Navigator Pilothouse Motor Yacht 2004 to 2008

Captain/engineer of luxury motor yacht, acted as owner’s agent, performed all functions from procurement, maintenance, crewing, engineering, to supervision of subcontractors, Operated Shore boat, performing transportation and ecology tours. Chartered vessel on Columbia Rivers, Pacific Ocean, San Juan Islands, and Puget Sound. Owner is Ms. Pauletta Sagen 6425 N. Atlantic Portland, Oregon 97217.



The Tile Source Inc 5000 N. Basin Portland, Oregon 97217 2001 to 2006

Founder/owner operator

Oversaw all operations of tile import and distribution company specializing in fine Italian and Spanish porcelain. I Sold over 5 M to 350 customers in Oregon, Washington, and Idaho, designed and sold displays. I Managed a sales team responsible for the Pacific Northwest and Pacific Rim regions. I traveled overseas buying at various trade shows and factories, negotiating with foreign vendors, buying in meters and converting to standard. During this period of Import/Export, I supervised a crew varying in size, warehousing ceramic tile on Swan Island in Portland. I'm Forklift certified for the handling of very heavy loads, of fragile material. I Sold business March 31, 2006 to Mr. John Flemmin



The Tile Store Inc. 2750 W. 11th Eugene, Oregon 97402 1990 to 2001

Founder/Owner/Operator

Operated two stores (one in Portland and another in Eugene) selling ceramic tile and natural stone to customers, including, Motor Coach manufacturers, builders, designers, as well as retail customers. I Supervised 15 employees, with an annual gross of over 3 million dollars. Operated an overhead crane for the handling of heavy slabs, forklifts for the handling of pallets weighing up to 5,000 lbs and trucks with a GVW of 26,000 lbs. Sold business June 2001.



The Tile Man Inc. 684 20th Ave. San Francisco, California 94121 1983 to 1991

Employee then Bought business in 1985

Manager and estimator of a small tile installation company that grossed approximately $500,000 a year. Handled all bookkeeping, payroll, and every other aspect of running the business. Employee for the first two years, then purchased and grew this business from $500,000 annually to over $3 million in annual sales. Operated a fleet of vehicles fully

equipped with all necessary tools and equipment. I supervised 37 employees at the height of this business before selling to a key employee.

Boat Marine Worker

Responsible for all aspects of marine maintenance and repair. Fiberglass, metal work, including welding, and cutting, sand blasting, needle gun preparation. Primed, did paint jobs, using Linear Poly Urethane, Epoxy and non-skid surfaces, servicing thru hull fittings, exhaust systems, ventilation systems. Operated 50,000 lbs Travel lift, 30,000 lbs. overhead crane, forklifts, steam box. Operated the Marine Railways, hauling boats up to 120’ in length. Worked with air and electric powered tools. Worked on Cutlass and rudder bearings, shaft’s and propellers, as well as trim tab systems. Hauling and launching boats, barges, tugboats.

Deckhand, assistant engineer responsible for making the boat ready for world cruise. Worked in Engine room doing maintenance, cleaning and painting. Operated shore boat taking owner and guests to their desired destinations at all times of the day and night.

I taught sailing to Community College students, and Boy Scouts, Maintained rental fleet, I assisted Yacht Brokers with boat sales and deliveries. I taught new owners how to operate their new vessels. I was Port Captain for rental and teaching fleet, in charge of maintenance of all docks, buildings, storage yards and sheds. I supervised cleaning and maintenance of Port of Redwood City buildings as subcontracted by Nadlin Yachting. My supervisor was Mr. Nadlin (deceased)

I have over 40,000 Sea Miles under my keel, on board Sailboats, Tugboats, Research Vessels, Fishing Boats, and Yachts. I’ve been Canada to Mexico a total of three times.

I’ve sailed to Hawaii aboard a 60’ ULDB. I crossed the Columbia River Bar at least 100 times, crossed the San Francisco Bar at least 60 times, Worked on Tow Boats, towing spoils out to a dump site some 60 miles offshore of San Francisco for Army Corps of Engineers.
