Objective


My objective is to pursue a shore based maritime career in operations or chartering management, using my experience as a captain, operations manager and business development professional. I am looking for a fulfilling position with a maritime industry leader, which values team work, honesty, loyalty, reliability, dedication, and personal integrity.

2005 - Present & 1999 - 2002 HARBOR MARINE LLC, Mamaroneck, NY

OPERATIONS MANAGER/CAPTAIN

• Managed a professional crew and developed comprehensive vessel maintenance programs.

• Directed multiple job functions including sales, client relations, light salvage operations, towing, pier and dock construction/installation/repairs, diving, standard and underwater rigging, wreck recovery, search and rescue, fire fighting, and spill response.

• Established positive working relationships with U.S. Coast Guard, Marine Police, Fire departments, EMS, and other local municipalities.

• Managed all operations including electrical and mechanical repairs, preventative maintenance, safety, and quality.

• Tracked and monitored all operational deficiencies and implemented corrective actions.

• Managed work order process to ensure complete and timely repairs of maintenance jobs.

• Served aboard the 561' tween-deck general cargo ship MV Advantage.

• Employed in East Africa and the Persian Gulf.

• Supervised multiple operations including bulk and bagged grain, container operations, gear and grab operations, heavy lifts, and GMDSS, ISM and ISPS code compliance.

• Managed labor teams in port.

• Ensured cargo stowage capacity to maximize vessel allowance within compliance, using vessel stability program.

• Supervised port crews with a focus on productivity, safety, process/workflow improvements, and timelines.



2006 - 2008 NEW YORK WATER TAXI, Brooklyn, NY

CAPTAIN, Master of 149 Passenger Fast Catamaran (Part-Time)

• Managed all voyage operations, crew management and training of new captains.

• Ran all operations including preventative maintenance, repairs, safety, quality assurance procedures, and compliance.



2004 - 2005 OFFSHORE MARINE ASSISTANCE CORPORATION, San Diego, CA

OPERATIONS MANAGER/CAPTAIN

• Maintained emergency marine services covering 140 miles of Pacific coastline.

• Developed and implemented marketing plans targeting dealers, brokers and retailers.

• Sold memberships using a cost/benefit approach.

• Ran operations including crew supervision, fleet dispatch, diving, salvage, rescue and spill response.

• Oversaw all vessel maintenance and repairs covering electrical and mechanical systems.

2002 - 2004 TERRIBLE HERBST OIL COMPANY, Newport Beach, CA

MATE

• Assisted with daily operation of 107' Westport built Mr. Terrible, valued at $8 million, with routes between Newport Beach, California and Cabo San Lucas, Mexico.

• Responsible for security of vessel, supervision of crew and laborers and management of shipyard teams during overhaul of mains, generators, paint and electronics during San Diego dry dock.
