Fuel Operations Associate – Responsible for the safe and efficient operations of 5 coal barges. Manage day to day operation to ensure the efficient delivery of up to 5 million tons of coal for Constellation Energy Power Plants. Selected to coordinate the implementation of Integrated Marine Operations System (IMOS), a new operating system for Constellation’s London office as well as for marine operations in Baltimore.
Moran Towing Corporation, February 2004 – July 2006, New Canaan, CT.
Manager, Dry Bulk Division – Responsible for the efficient operation of 9 ocean dry bulk barges and 12 inland hopper barges. Manage day to day operations including chartering, scheduling, reporting and cargo operations that service customers throughout the East Coast, Gulf of Mexico, Caribbean and Central and South America. Operational manager of the Joint Venture company ODB, LLC. Managed the Dry Bulk Division through a change from an operating loss in the previous year to an operating profit in 2004 and again in 2005. Played a key role in helping the division increase revenue more than 50% from 2003 through 2005.
American Tugs Incorporated, June 2003-February 2004, San Juan, PR
Operations Manager, Port Captain – Supervises 25 professional mariners. Responsible for the safe operation and maintenance of company towing vessels. Operated a variety of tugboats performing numerous ship dockings of oil barges, tankers as well as LNG vessels in ports throughout Puerto Rico. Responsible for maintaining the fleet of tugs in superior operational condition.
Caribbean Nautical School, Inc., October 2001-May 2003, San Juan, PR
President – Developed 12 United States Coast Guard approved marine related courses. Instructed over 800 professional mariners in marine safety, radar certification and license courses.
Puerto Rico Towing and Barge Co., September 2000-March 2001, San Juan, PR
Vice-President of Operations, Port Captain - Supervised 30 professional mariners. Responsible for the safe operation and maintenance of all company vessels. Maintained company vessels in compliance with the American Waterway Operators Association’s Responsible Carrier Program. Reviewed all licensed and unlicensed personnel credentials and assisted the United States Coast Guard in identifying improperly credentialed mariners.

Company Officer – Prepared, trained and counseled over 120 selected sailors and marines for ascension into Navy and Marine Corps officer programs. Responsible for the academic and cultural development of selected sailors and marines in preparation for their ascension from enlisted ranks to the officer corps of the US Navy and US Marine Corps. Awarded the Navy and Marine Corps Achievement Medal for superior performance as a Company Officer.
USS Thomas S. Gates (CG 51), Dec 1996-May 1998, Norfolk, VA
Damage Control Assistant – Directed all actions required of shipboard mission critical evolutions and exercises. Led the Engineering Department’s Repair Division. Qualified as Command Duty Officer, Engineering Officer of the Watch, and re-qualified as Officer of the Deck (Underway) for the Guided Missile Cruiser platform. Developed and administered a new ship’s instruction that increased the requirement of all personnel assigned to the ship to be required to increase their qualifications. This instruction enabled the ship to safely maintain its readiness posture in port even with 10 watch sections.
Awarded the Navy and Marine Corps Achievement Medal for managing the damage
control organization and all aspects of machinery repair.

First Lieutenant, Afloat – Supervised deck force in the performance of seamanship
functions and evolutions. Led Deck Department’s First and Second Divisions. Served as the Division Officer to more than 60 enlisted personnel. Awarded the NATO Medal, Armed Forces Expeditionary Medal, Navy Unit Commendation, Armed Forces Service Medal.
Auxiliary Machinery Officer – Led the Engineering Department’s Auxiliaries
Division. Legal Officer – Responsible to the Commanding Officer for advice on military
criminal law, military evidence, military justice procedures, and civil and
administrative law. Awarded two Navy and Marine Corps Achievement Medals.
