Primary Function Operations:
• Manage Logistics Office at Buchanan Marine – Dispatching of Several Tug boats operating within the NY Harbor, on the Hudson River and the Long Island sound, in order to deliver stone barges.
• Create dispatch plan for Tugs to ensure safe operation and accurate movements within company and U.S.G.C guidelines.
• Work directly with Captains and crew personnel in order to correctly and efficiently deliver stone barges according to dispatch plan.
• Log tug movements on daily tug log sheets in order to track tug activities and provide information for input into SQL tug dispatching program.
• Work with Tug and Land Personnel to ensure proper maintenance of equipment; tugs, barges, docks and moorings. Assist in the setting up of repairs to equipment when it is necessary.
• Oversee the loadings and movements of 100 stone barges.
• Set up loading schedules working with Tilcon’s Quarry Loading facilities. Working with their personnel in order to ensure proper material sourcing
• Work directly with Buchanan’s customer: Tilcon NY/CT and their Customers in order to facilitate timely delivery of product.
• Work with outside tug vendors to cover work load overflow, setting up jobs, providing dispatch information, oversee proper billing and purchase orders for work completed.
Secondary Function: Customer Service
• Take customer material orders via phone, e-mail, fax, and Tilcon sales staff.
• Act as customer service for Tilcon’s Marine Customers, working with them directly to fulfill their needs and solve problems if necessary.
• Utilizing company SQL database system to track barges, provide customer billing information and ticketing services.
• Work with Tilcon Billing Department in the servicing of their Marine Customer’s.
