RECORD OF MILITARY SERVICE – IRISH NAVAL SERVICE



Commissioned as an Operations Branch Officer 11/2001 (Operations Branch).



Underwent Military and Naval Training on Naval Base from 11/2001 to 04/2002.



Served onboard LE EMER (Patrol Vessel) from 04/2002 to 09/2005. During that time I held appointments as Navigation Officer on board. I also carried out the duties as Executive Officer and second in command for a 12 month period.



Posted to Naval Base 09/2005 and held a shore based appointment as Administration Officer for the Naval College and was responsible for all Administration for Naval College including the Naval Section of the National Maritime College of Ireland.



As Recruit Training Officer, I was also responsible for all training and development for a class of 30 recruits.



Promoted to Rank of Lieutenant on 11/2005.



Served onboard LE ROISIN (Patrol Vessel) from 09/2007 to 09/2009 During that time I held appointments as Navigation Officer, Gunnery Officer and Fisheries Officer on board. I was also the Officer in charge of the Naval Narcotics Response Team during my time onboard and have gained some valuable experience in this area.



During my service in the Irish Navy, I have acquired further Military and Naval experience. I am also an experienced administrator and planner who works well without supervision and adapts well to meet the demands of new responsibilities and roles. I have good communication skills and works well both as a leader and also in a team environment. I am quick and keen learner and am found to be reliable and trustworthy in character.



Took up Shore Posting 22/09/2009 and currently carrying out the roles and repsonsibities as Harbour Master for the Naval Service and Naval Base. I am also in charge of all Naval Boat Transport and Boat transport personnel. During my time in the Naval Service I have gained experience as Account holder and Operator for both Technical and Financial accounts and budgetary control.
