To work as an Offshore Crane Maintenance Engineer in a major oil and gas company where my knowledge, skills and experience in offshore crane maintenance can be fully utilized.
Experience
1997 – Present : Qatar Engineering & Construction Company (Formerly Mideast Constructors Co.), a major oil & gas EPC& maintenance contractor and a public share holding company in Doha, Qatar.
SENIOR MECHANICAL ENGINEER, in Maintenance & Support Services Department of above-mentioned company. Reporting to the Department Manager. Responsibilities & accomplishments includes:
* Overseeing all offshore crane maintenance support service (call-off) contracts with major oil & gas clients including; Qatar Petroleum, Rasgas, and Total E&P.
* Served as a CRANE ENGINEER in the above contracts and frequently visits offshore platforms at various locations. Directly involved in co-ordinations, planning, periodic audits, survey / inspections, maintenance, repairs, commissioning & testing (function test & load test).
* Pedestal cranes which are located at various offshore platforms includes; 3-Aker at QP PS-1,2&3, 1-Baker & 5-Hydralift at Total E&P, 8-Liebherr at QP PS-4, 1-American Aero, 1-Weatherford & 7-Nautilus at Rasgas, 10-North American (Alaska Marine) at QP remote wellhead platforms.
* Carried out a comprehensive survey / audit of 10 Nos. North American Pedestal cranes & 10 Nos. Pneumatic hoists (located at various QP-offshore platforms), to assess crane conditions & to help determine the need for repair. Prepared & submitted comprehensive technical reports directly to client’s representative with recommendations for improvements to ensure safe & efficient operation & prevent costly breakdown.
* Successfully completed the major overhauling & testing of 3-winches of Rasgas 35-Ton Weatherford offshore pedestal crane.
* Successfully carried out a major tear-down inspection, troubleshooting, repair, testing & commissioning of 1No. Aker pedestal crane (located at PS3 Platform) of Qatar Petroleum Co. and 1No. Baker pedestal crane (located at DP1 Platform -Al Khaleej field) of Total E&P Co.
* Carrying out wire rope inspection and maintenance to various offshore pedestal cranes.
* Carried out maintenance & inspections to client’s satisfaction and in accordance with the relevant codes & standards, such as; API RP-2D (Recommended Practice for Operation & Maintenance of Offshore Pedestal Cranes) and BS-7121 (Code of Practice for Safe Use of Cranes).
* Maintenance supervision of in-house heavy construction equipment, plant & machinery which includes; hydraulic mobile cranes (Grove, P&H, Krupp) with various capacities, crawler mounted cranes (Manitowoc, NCK, Ruston Bucyrus) with various capacities, forklifts (JCB, TCM & Matbro) with capacities ranging 2 - 8 Tons. diesel power generator sets with engines such as; Cummins, Detroit, Perkins, & Caterpillar. Miller & Linclon diesel welding machines with Perkins, Detroit and Deutz engines. Holman diesel driven air compressors with various capacities. Plus, various light & heavy transports / vehicles.
* Performs site inspections of plant & equipment at various construction sites and co-ordinate with project representatives at different levels.
* Conducting diagnostic inspections, failure analysis and providing rectification methodologies.
* Formulates, develops and implements comprehensive maintenance programs and audit procedures.
* Ensuring compliance to all relevant health, safety, quality & environmental management procedures and controls within a define area of activities.

MAINTENANCE SUPERVISOR in the Maintenance Department of a government organisation in Saudi Arabia. Reporting to the General Services Supervisor. Responsibilities / Accomplishments:
* Maintenance supervision of Group-3 automated buildings and associated mechanical, electrical, instrumentation and civil equipment with a view to ensuring safe, reliable & economical operation. Equipment includes; elevators, escalators, food conveying systems, power generators, pumps & pumping stations, compressors, boiler & pressure vessels, heat exchangers, fire fighting systems, HVAC, piping and plumbing systems, etc.
* Conceived, planned and organised the maintenance programs of all plant, machinery & equipment and took active part in cost saving program.
* Supervised both in-house and contractor multi-disciplined maintenance personnel with different nationalities.
* Maintained all equipment in its peak performance & operational condition.
* Gained broad working knowledge in the new design & technology of sophisticated equipment.
* Carried out diagnostic inspections and analytical procedures.
1986 - 1991 : Starlift Elevators and Industrial Engineering, Santa Cruz, Manila, Philippines.
LIFT ENGINEER in a reputable private company dealing with various types and brands of elevators & escalators including; Mitsubishi, Schindler, Hitachi, Otis , Hyundai & Dongyang. Reporting to the Branch Manager. Responsibilities includes:
* Generating enquiries. Technical evaluation. Tender estimates, pricing & negotiations. Order processing, including liaison with overseas suppliers or vendors. Client co-ordination. Planning & interpretation of architectural drawings. Customer service & supervision of workforce. Installation, testing, commissioning, inspection, modification / modernisation, repair & maintenance of various types of Koppel and Schindler passenger lifts, goods lifts, dumbwaiters, escalators, with electric & hydraulic drives, microprocessor controllers & various capacities.
* Carried out installation, repair and maintenance of various types of elevators and escalators in accordance with the plan and diagrams.
