NUCLEAR TRAINED PLANT OPERATOR/Gas Processing Plant Operator III

Objective


Experienced Nuclear and Gas Plant Operator with knowledge of the design and hands-on operation of engineering plant equipment including: steam and gas fired turbines, heat exchangers, turbine generators, gas fired and waste heat boilers, sulfur recovery, amine sweetening, cryogenic plant processing, valves, pumps, cooling water systems, and lube oil systems.

Gas Processing Plant Operator III, November 2009 – Present



* Look for ways of optimizing the plant’s various systems in order to achieve maximum productivity.

* Understand operation and theory of control systems and their uses.

* Troubleshooting method for plant process

* Computer proficiency (KMS, Maximo, Excel, Word)

* Writing plant operating procedures

* Environmental reporting procedures and systems (AMS)

* Operating proficiency testing, create training plans

* Write requisitions for purchase orders

* Plant financial/budget planning



Gas Processing Plant Operator, November 2006- November 2009



* Operate gas fired turbines, cryogenics processing, amine sweetening, sulfur recovery, emergency shutdown systems, fuel systems and instrument air systems.

* Pass yearly performance tests to safely and efficiently operate gas plant.

* Participate in plant PHA’s and MOC meetings.

* Responsible for environmental reporting of air pollution and spills.

* Responsible for administering first aid, fire fighting and donning air breathing apparatus if needed.

* Responsible for maintaining plant drinking water system and monthly reporting to the state.



Nuclear Trained Plant Operator, United States Navy, August 2000 - August 2006



USS Harry S. Truman, Norfolk Virginia



* Operated and performed organizational level maintenance on mechanical systems for surface ship nuclear propulsion plants.

* Operate, repair and perform maintenance on ship propulsion machinery and auxiliary equipment.

* Operates main propulsion steam engines, turbo generators and associated systems, i.e. (condensate, circulating water, lube oil etc.)

* Operates auxiliary systems including compressed air and portable water systems.

* Frequently required to complete maintenance logs to ensure regulations were followed.

* Exercise environmental control procedures to minimize air pollution and oil spills.

* Exercise quality assurance, technical research, preventive maintenance, industrial safety and equipment troubleshooting.
