Experience


August 1976 -March 1978: Tools Workshop Foreman, Galati Shipyard, Romania

Responsibilities:



-Designed and supervised the production of different types of tools like drilling machines, grinding machines, cutting machines (all air-driven types) and other specifically ship tools.



April 1978 – December 1980 and June 1984 – June 2000: Technical Designer in Machinery and Engineering Design Department, Galati Shipyard, Romania

Responsibilities:

-Worked in designing different types of systems such as: ventilation, foundations, ballast, bilge, fuel, safety and fire fighting systems (water, foam and CO2).

-Designed hoisting devices, piping arrangement in different locations on decks (paint lockers) and in Engine Room (workshops, pump rooms, etc.) for general cargo ships and oil tankers.

-Conducted on-scene technical investigation and troubleshooting of various inadequacies and errors appeared during shipbuilding process.

-Performed process calculations regarding pumps, valves & pipes sizing, isolation, shut-down philosophies, coolers, pumps, etc.

January 1981 - May 1984: Senior Consultant in NAVIMPEX ENTERPRISE, Galati, Romania

Responsibilities:

-Negotiated ships trading contracts between Romanian shipyards and foreign parties (e.g. regarding 2 vessels built in TURNU-SEVERIN Shipyard, Romania and Republic of Cuba).

1995, Summer: Technical Assistant, Oil Rig “ORIZONT”

Responsibilities:

-Member of a complex team engaged in major repairs of oil rig “ORIZONT” located in the Black Sea.

July 2000 – December 2007: Technical Officer in DAMEN Shipyard, Galati, Romania

Responsibilities:

-Performed numerous duties in the Shipyard Administration.

January 2008 – January 2009: Senior Technical Designer in ICEPRONAV Ship Design Center - Galati, Romania

Responsibilities:

-Conducted computer design projects of various ship installations and piping arrangements.

-Main studies related to Naval Architecture and Naval Systems and Equipments.

-Highly proficient in AUTOCAD, TRIBON and PDMS computer ship design software -Proficient in utilizing a variety of software and operating systems:

-Knowledge of Word, Excel, Adobe Acrobat Reader, Outlook, Windows, Internet and E-mail.

-Produced numerous graphics for briefing presentations, produced and maintained administrative files and databases; wrote and produced hundreds of written reports of oral briefings and conversational notes.
