Summary

Result oriented marine engineer with 7 of experiences, in directing complex operations in merchant navy, possess excellent analytical skills, honed through work experience and masters studies. I have a keen interest in engineering principles, product design and customer support.

Experience

Sep 2013 – Feb 2015 MSc Student, (Erasmus Mundus degree program in naval architecture, www.emship.eu).

Internship,  Ship Design and Research Centre, Poland, www.cto.gda.pl.

  • Participated in the model tests of ships and marine propellers in wave basin.
  • An energy efficient propulsion concept capable of satisfying IMO's EEDI regulation, was validated by a series of propulsion tests, in CFD code STAR CCM+ for a Master thesis work.
  • Experienced with unsteady turbulent, incompressible & multiphase flow simulations.

Course work (Hydrodynamics, structural design & computational fluid dynamics).

  • Ship structural design and Von-Mises failure analysis based on loading conditions.
  • Ultimate limit state analysis of ship structures based on various publications.
  • Sea keeping analysis of a ship (BEM code Aqua-Plus) & a spar buoy (experiments in irregular waves).
  • Inclining experiments and study of free surface effects with a model ship.
  • Wageningen B- Series propeller selection and sectional drawings based on project requirements.
  • Dynamic analysis of a fixed offshore structure (experiments in regular waves) to study preponderant forces and influence of water depth.
  • Study of ocean wave hydrodynamics and sea state simulations in MATLAB.
  • Wind tunnel experiments to study pressure distribution on a cylinder.
  • Stress concentration analysis of drilled plates, structural calculations of beams in ANSYS.
  • Turbulent flow over periodic hill, poiseuille flow and lid driven cavity simulations in Star-CCM+

Jun2005 – Jun2013 Marine Engineer (Anglo Eastern Ship Management, Bernhard Schulte Ship Management, Hong Kong).

(Worked in bulk carrier, product tanker, container & tug)

  • Responsible for the operation and maintenance of, propulsion & auxiliary diesel engines (up to 77000 KW), air compressors, heat exchangers, PID controllers and auxiliary systems.
  • Ensured timely execution of various dry docking projects, worth $ 4 million, coordinating with, contractors & other stakeholders, seeing it through the planning & implementation stages.
