Experience
Carnival Corporation: Manager, Maritime Audit Services, responsible for HESS Audits (Health, Environmental, Safety and Security) in the affiliated Operating lines (Princess, Holland America, Seabourn, Costa, AIDA, etc.). These Audits comprised a comprehensive inspection of the ships, including statutory (SOLAS, MARPOL, ISM, ISPS, etc.) and technical (structural and engineering) aspects. It also included the investigation of incidents and accidents occurred in the Fleet.
Carnival Cruise Lines (CCL): Manager Auditing. Responsible for all Auditing in Carnival Ships/offices (ISO 14001 and 9001, ISM, SMS and ISPS (Security)), including scheduling, assigning Auditors, reviews, protocols, etc. Our department (Compliance and Product Quality) was also in charge of Product Quality (crew and guest satisfaction)).
CCL: Manager, Auditing (managing 3 more Auditors). Duties included ISO 14001 and ECP (Environmental Compliance Plan) Audits on board all CCL fleet as well all shore side units, development of new training/manuals, environmental training of crew members and shoreside personnel and analysis of new products/equipments for the fleet (suitability and evaluation).
CCL: Deck and Engine Superintendent (Carnival Destiny and Jubilee). All technical maintenance aspects of two cruise ships
Last Employment:
Lloyd’s Register of Shipping (LR), as Senior Ship and Engineer Surveyor at Vancouver (B.C. Canada) and then transferred to the Jacksonville (USA) office. Responsible for hull and machinery Surveys during construction of new vessels and classification/statutory/damage surveys on ships visiting the areas covered by the offices. This included all SOLAS, IMO, MARPOL (all annexes) and related Statutory surveys, as well as Flag specific Surveys (accommodation, cargo gear, Safety, etc.). The Jacksonville office included the ports of Tampa, Port Canaveral (Carnival and Disney cruise ships), Savannah and Charleston.
Additional duties:
• I.S.T.O. (In Service Training Officer): Responsible for the training of new Surveyors (Hull, Machinery and Passenger Ship Safety).
• Level 1 Passenger Ship Surveyor (highest level).
