PROJECTS UNDERTAKEN

1---Wave Energy Centre - Lisbon, Portugal (Apr – Jul 2007)

WAVE CLIMATE PREDICTION FROM PRESSURE DISTRIBUTION IN OSCILLATING WATER COLUMN

(Worked under the guidance of Prof. Antonio Sarmento)

The work, in close conjunction with Instituto Superior Technico, Lisbon, included generating a transfer function co-relating the air pressure distribution in the pneumatic chamber of the OWC, identifying the characteristics of incoming waves, and finding the efficiency of the OWC. Spectral matching was obtained by using MATLAB.

2--Indian Institute of Technology – Madras, India ( Sept 2006 – Mar 2007 )

DAMAGE DETECTION OF OFFSHORE STRUCTURE (B.Tech project)

- (Worked under the direction of Prof. VG Idichandy)

This involved modelling of a Jacket Platform on SACS and removing the braces at different levels (damaging the platform truss) and thus observing the mode shape changes before the structure fails. The effect crack on a member was studied using ANSYS.

Certification

-B. Tech Certification from IIT Madras 2007

-Short training program on structure and shipyard activities by DNV academy, Korea
