1.Presently working as Office in Charge of a ship-design & consultancy firm for more than 6 years. Designing and preparing working drawings for Off-shore Supply Vessels, Pipe Laying Barges, Diving Support Vessels with dynamic positioning facility, various ocean going tugs etc are the main activities of this firm. We also provide Production planning and schedule of the projects to the client shipyards.
2. Worked as Additional General Manager (Design) with Bharati Shipyard Ltd. Mumbai, in western India from 16th Oct. 1997 to 31st Jul. 2003. Involved in design various vessels like:
o 55 T Bollard Pull Tugs 4 nos
o 45 T Bollard Pull Tugs 2 nos
o Dispatch Vessel 1 no
o 2,500 DWT Mini Bulk Carriers 4 nos
o 54 T Bollard Pull Tugs 2 nos
o Bitumen Carrier 1 no
My job also involved co-ordination with classification societies and owners on technical matters, Planning & production activities of the yard and selection of major Machineries, Equipment for shipbuilding.
3. Worked as Manager in ABG Shipyard Ltd., Surat, in western India, The biggest Indian Shipyard in its private sector from 14th Dec, 1993 to 15th Oct 1997. Associated in the construction activities of the vessels:
o 2,500 DWT Mini Bulk Carrier 2 nos.
o Arti-couple type Tug-Barge combination 4 nos.
o 2,500 DWT Bulk Cement Carrier with automatic loading/unloading arrangement 3 nos.
o 36 T Floating Crane 3 nos.
Participated in the following:
• Work Scheduling / Distribution.
• Determination of Block Sizes.
• Pre-launching & Post Launching activities.
• Inclining Experiment & Preparation of Stability Booklet.
• Participating sea-trials of various vessels.
4. Joined as Assistant Manager (Design), promoted to Manager (Design) & subsequently to Manager (Technical) from 10th Jan 1982 to 12th Dec 1993 in Hooghly Dock & Port Engineers Ltd in Eastern India. Involved in the design of vessels like:
• Floating Dry Dock 1 no
• Various Tugs with Voith and Steerable Rudder Propellers.
• Conducted inclining experiments and sea trials of various vessels.
5. Worked as Assistant Naval Architect from 10th Jan. 1972 to 17th Nov. 1982 with Central Inland Water Transport Corporation Ltd in Eastern India.
6. Overseas Training: Undergone practical training on Ship-building in Japan for 1 year from Jan. to Dec. 1987 of which 4 months of direct association at the shop-floor level in KURE SHIPYARD of IHI, JAPAN.
Education
Academic and Professional Qualifications
1) Passed Higher Secondary in Science Stream from West Bengal Board of Secondary Education in 1966.
2) Completed B.Tech (Hons) in Naval Architecture form Indian Institute of Technology, Kharagpur, W.Bengal in 1971.
Certification
Completed a 1 year course in Shipbuilding from OSCC / JICA Japan in 1987.

Under the head "Education Level" I could not select the right option other than than 4 years. Underwent degree course in Naval Architecture for 5 & 1/2 years from IIT Kharqagpur, India.
