Tasks include preparing general arrangement design drawings for ship alterations on US Navy aircraft carriers, including removals, installations and fabrications, while using the latest Navy and shipboard standards. Conduct shipchecks as part of a team in support of design development. Coordinate and consult with shipboard personnel regarding alterations during shipchecks. Perform shock analysis and prepare engineering calculation reports for various types of bulkhead mounted and deck mounted foundations. Cognizant in using DDAM for shock analysis. Coordinate with other departments in support of drawing development.



August 2005-January 2007

Design Engineer

RBF Consulting, Temecula, CA

Tasks include preparing design drawings for street and utility improvements, rough and precise grading, making corrections to plans and resolving engineering issues. Work within a team to prepare plans in a timely manner. Make revisions to grading designs and storm drain designs. Design of residential and commercial developments. Preparation of preliminary cost estimates for development. Consult with survey and other disciplines to resolve issues.



September 2003 – July 2005

Engineering Assistant

KWC Engineers, Corona, CA

Tasks include storm drain, water and sewer design and analysis and pre- and post construction hydrology analysis. Preparation of rough grade, precise grade and improvement plans. Geometric design of streets and preliminary engineering on residential and commercial projects. Also prepare Stormwater Pollution Prevention Plans and design open channels and detention basins.



June 2002 – August 2003

Naval Architect

Norfolk Naval Shipyard, Portsmouth, VA

Design modifications, installations and removals for hull outfittings, habitability and stowage. Develop ship installation drawings for various amphibious ships, aircraft carriers and a submarine tender. Perform local weight and moment calculations to determine the impact on buoyancy and stability due to modifications. Advise and collaborate with shipboard personnel on proposed changes affecting ship. Supervise data collection of contractors during shipboard investigation in support of drawing development.



July 1994 – July 1997

Active Duty Service Member-Quartermaster 3rd Class

US Navy, USS Port Royal (CG 73) Pearl Harbor, HI

Perform various supporting roles, including fire watch while ship undergoing a drydock period. Prepare navigation reports for officer briefings. Program and monitor ship’s GPS to plan and track ship’s position. Consult with officers in matters of navigation, hazards and weather forecasting.
