Coordinated U.S. and allied submarine operations in the European and Africa Command Areas of Responsibility. Attended Engineering Duty Officer School April 2011 – May 2011.
• Implemented and executed training, qualifications, and proficiency for 14 submarine officers from five matrixed command staffs, significantly contributing to their professional training while maintaining human capital and standards of readiness.
• Supervised and coordinated day-to-day real-time command and control of multiple U.S. Submarines.

Assistant Operations Officer Expeditionary Strike Group THREE, San Diego, CA November 2007 – March 2010
Led the efforts concerning readiness of deploying expeditionary strike group assets while in home port. While deployed, executed current operations and managed expeditionary watch team in the operations center.
• During first competitive evaluation period, ranked 2 of 8 lieutenant commander while being the most junior lieutenant commander on the staff. Following this, ranked number 1 of 9 and 1 of 11 until departure date.
• While deployed in the Middle East (Fifth Fleet), interfaced with six different U.S. and Coalition staffs to coordinate planning and operations of all naval assets, ensuring maximum mission capability and readiness.
• “Top Performing Battle Watch Captain”, personally trained dozens for qualification as Flag Watch Officer and Battle Watch Captain in support of all naval assets in the Middle East.
• Recognized for personally developing a comprehensive plan to increase Northern Arabian Gulf Task Force’s readiness in response to changing strategic, operational, and tactical situations.
• While not deployed, recognized for overseeing the day-to-day operations of 24 amphibious commands, ensuring units are ready for deployment, from material readiness and unit level training through the pre-deployment training cycle.

Combat Systems Officer USS Minneapolis-St Paul (SSN 708), Norfolk, VA November 2005 – October 2007
Led the 30 person Combat Systems Department in Operation and Maintenance of SONAR, Fire Control, Torpedo, Missile, and Small Arms systems as well as implementing all force protection policies. While serving as Combat Systems Department Head, maintained nuclear engineering senior supervisory status and conducted Engineering Department Training in classroom and practical settings.
• Chosen as one of two officers to lead the ship’s transit through the Panama Canal and upon initial entries into new ports.
• Led the Minneapolis-St Paul Combat Systems Department to be recognized by the Squadron Commander as the “best on the waterfront” out of six submarines with respect to weapons handling and proficiency programs.
• While serving as Acting Executive Officer (and Combat Systems Officer), earned praise by Naval Reactors Representative as the cleanest ship on the waterfront, and by Commander, Submarine Force Pacific as “the cleanest ship on the waterfront.”
• Led and trained personnel in multiple departments in multiple areas, resulting in 4 of 6 areas graded as EXCELLENT in the 2006 Tactical Readiness Evaluation and Engineering Department’s successful 2007 Operational Reactors Safeguards Exam.
• Led complex maintenance projects on nuclear and conventional systems as senior supervisory watch during a six month shipyard maintenance period, recognized for coordinating and deconflicting sea trial retests of all systems and components.
