DREDGE OPERATORS INC. SHIP STUYVESANT (380ft) – 1st/2nd ASSISTANT ENGINEER (AE) JAN 2008 - present

* Stood 12 hour watch rotation to monitor all engineering/dredging equipment and maintain engineering log book

* Operated/maintained Stork Wartsila Diesel TM-410 13800shp diesel plant with two 9-cylinder engines with four attached generators

* Operated/maintained Caterpillar 3516 (800kw), 399 (900kw), and 3306 (151kw) series diesel generator sets

* Operated/maintained Cummins V16 KTA50 1500KVA (1200kw) diesel generator set

* Operated/maintained 45 lb exhaust stack gas steam boiler & associated equipment for heavy fuel/water heating & water distillation

* Operated/maintained Alfa-Laval Nirex Evaporator JWP-36-C100 water distillation plant (4000 gal/day).

* Tracked and made daily reports of fuel/lube oil/potable & fresh water consumption for ship's Chief engineer.

* Assist with rebuilding valves/valve gear of two 9-cylinder 6900shp Stork Wartsila Diesel (SWD) main propulsion engines

* Rebuilt two 50hp GE squirrel cage electric motors used with main sea water circulation pumps for ship engineering plant.

* Operated/maintained four Westfalia OSA 20-02-066 chamber bowl separators/purifiers for main engine fuel and lube oil systems

* Operated/maintained Boll & Kirch type 8.12 Filtrator for Heavy Fuel Oil (HFO) processing

* Operated/maintained three 600kw electric motor driven dredge jet pumps to include replacing pump bearings

* Maintained various hydraulic systems for dredging equipment to include valve actuators, pumps and filter replacements

* Operated/maintained HFO viscometer and probe manufactured by Cambridge Viscosity Monitoring & Control Electronics

* Received $45/day pay raise after first 6 weeks of working onboard due to excellent performance

* Operated/maintained 4800shp diesel engine plant with two 3606 series 2400hp, 6-cylinder Caterpillar engines

* Design and supervise piping conversion of two wing fuel tanks into ballast tanks
