Brunswick Saltwater Boat Group, Edgewater, FL
(Boston Whaler Inc., SeaPro Boats, Trophy Sport Fishing Boats, Triton Boats) June-December2008
Mechanical Engineer
• Responsible for design and engineering of new boat models for several brands
• Created detailed assembly models and drawings using Unigraphics NX6
• Practiced creativity and hands-on skills.
• Created parts using solid and freeform surface modeling
• Utilized finite element analysis on structures to assure structural integrity using ANSYS
• Introduced and integrated several boat models into new production facilities
• Shaped system to standardize bill of materials across several manufacturing plants for cost savings initiatives
• Worked and communicated in cross-functional teams of personnel in manufacturing facilities across the US
• Implemented engineering changes and deviations on product in the production process
• Interfaced with vendors, managers, builders, quality control, purchasing, marketing, and sales representatives
• Proposed an original energy conservation program utilizing waste heat from a process used to build boat hulls. Estimated the process would save up to $5000 a year for each boat model.
Boston Whaler Inc., Edgewater, FL July-January 2005-2006
Mechanical Engineering and Design Co-op July-January 2006-2007
• Specialized in new product development and engineering for new boat models and their components
• Tasked with elements of industrial design, 3D modeling, product line integration, LEAN manufacturing, vendor and new product research, and quality control testing for several new models.
• Created complex vendor prints using AutoCAD
• Designed and engineered structures such as bow rails, hand rails, accent rails, ski pylons, casting platforms, T-tops, cabinetry, counter tops, acrylic and ABS parts
• Designed parts for C&C machines, close molding processes and open molding processes
• Contributed to the design of drainage, electrical, fuel, freshwater, waste, air-conditioning , and lighting systems
• Understand the structural importance of laminate schedules, and mold geometry.
• Participated in dealer meetings, sales training, and several boat shows as a test driver and product development representative

I have been an avid boater since an early age. I have owned, captained, and crewed many different brands and types of private yachts including Bertram, Black Watch, Grand Bank’s Eastbay, Contender, Boston Whaler, Edgewater, Robalo, Back Cove, Sea Ray, Tiara, Viking, and Hatteras. Due to the large amount of work and time I’ve spent on boats I have a great aspiration for boat design/building and hope to have a career designing them one day. I also enjoy flying and will be obtaining my private pilot’s license shortly. Some of my other interests include: fishing, water sports, golf, tennis, surfing, snowboarding and playing guitar.
