Experience
I feel that my 9 years experience onboard offers me knowledge of
working on in different environment and managing diverse
nationalities. I have actively participated in preparing the Dry dock
specification and preparing Technical specifications for building
cement carriers at Ambuja Cements, the company I am presently working
with. My MBA from Bradford University, reputed in UK offers me
knowledge in all sectors of Business such as Marketing, finance and
operations.
My short experience at Ambuja have provided me an opportunity to
enhance my financial skills by taking part in a team responsible to
identify way and means to reduce companies fixed and variable cost. I
realized the major cost associated with running a shipping company is
fuel cost and manpower cost which are valuable in terms of running the
ship. However we had provided solutions in reducing the spares cost by
using indigenous products and homogenizing the inventory for the
fleet. Solution to reduce the fuel cost was provided by advising the
masters to run the ship at economical speed as far as possible. Using
effective paint schemes provided by paint makers was also considered
as an option as fuel cost is considered to be 30% of the total
running cost.
MBA at Bradford was a good experience and I was awarded with a merit.
I have earned ‘A’ level in Project Management, Strategic management,
Product innovation, sustainable operations and Business research.
