Responsibilities include, but are not limited to: Chart Corrections, Safety Inspections/training of crew, and Tankerman responsibilities. Vessels served, ATB OSG Courageous, and ATB OSG Columbia, and ATB OSG Endurance.



2004 – Present

SMITH MARINE INC

Mate/Captain/Operator

Part time/On call, Mate aboard the inspected Towing Vessel “Towline” transporting barges and equipment to jobsites ranging from Maine to Virginia. Captain aboard other company vessels for various projects including but not limited to oil spill response, support/safety vessel, small Towboat/barge combination, bridge inspection platform crew.



2012 – Present

BOSTON HARBOR CRUISES, Boston, MA

Captain

Responsibilities include but are not limited to the safe operation and navigation of multiple Coast Guard inspected whale watch, commuter, sightseeing, crew, and off shore supply vessels from 45 to 165 feet, all aspects of the vessels strict aesthetic standards and mechanical maintenance as well as readying multiple vessels for annual Coast Guard COI. Working knowledge of vessels’ Detroit Diesel, Cummins, Caterpillar, and John Deere propulsion and generator engines up to 4 propulsion engines, up to 7000HP and capable of speeds up to 35kts.



2011 – 2013

U.S. POWER SQUADRON-BROAD SOUND CHAPTER, Lynn, MA

Executive Officer

Responsibilities include but not limited to the administration and instruction of classes, organization and issuance of credentials earned to passing students as well as vessel safety inspections to help keep recreational boaters in compliance with Massachusetts state safe boating regulations. Using formal class settings and exam based certifications along with seminars for further education, USPS is a nationwide USCG and MEP recognized association.



2010 – 2011

WATER TRANSPORTATION ALTERNATIVES INC./BOSTON’S BEST CRUISES, Salem/Boston, MA

Responsibilities include but are not limited to the safe operation and navigation of the 92’ 149 Passenger High Speed Catamaran P/V “Nathaniel Bowditch” ferry service from Salem to Boston, MA, training and supervising personnel providing security, care, service and safety of passengers.

Area Manager

Responsibilities include but are not limited to, implementation and supervision of up to 20 employees and pieces of commercial equipment on up to 15 large commercial properties during any meteorological snow or ice event.

Captain and Vessel Security Officer

Responsibilities include but not limited to management of marine operations, maintenance, and security for up to 74 crew aboard the 99 GRT 187’, 500 Passenger, P/V “Horizons Edge”. Implementation and enforcement of security regulations as put forth by the USCG in accordance with the (MTSA) Maritime Transportation and Security Act and MARSEC. Supervise construction and inspection for re-classification and compliance of P/V Stardancer IV (now the P/V Horizon Star) from 499 GRT H-boat to 98 GRT K-boat, under USCG regulation.

Able Bodied Seaman (AB)

Responsibilities include but not limited to training premier crew for “Certificate of Inspection” issued by USCG, and general readiness of vessel for passenger carriage aboard the 499 GRT 150’, P/V “Stardancer IV.” Other responsibilities included helm watch, and general deck maintenance and passenger security, safety, and comfort.

Unlicensed Engineer

Responsibilities included general deck maintenance, engine room watch, main engine and gen set maintenance, and general repair and maintenance of systems throughout the 99 GRT 186’ 500 PAX K-Boat P/V “Horizons Edge.”

Dockmaster/ General Manager

Responsibilities include but not limited to office management, contract negotiation, book keeping, dock and workboat maintenance, berthing assignment, customer/transient services, security, comfort and safety, and crew scheduling of up to 6 dedicated dockhands. Retained as a consultant for negotiation, renovation and construction of full facility upgrade post-resignation.
