Objective
Even though I am a captain with limited experienc (2yrs), a mate or AB position will allow me to adjust to the vessel before any future upgrade. 10 years of Total sea time equals; 1600 - 12hr - days for a upgrade to a 1600 Ton license. Depending on the tonnage of the vessel and time in the pilot house, I could upgrade even higher and a DPO certification would soon follow.
