From July of 2005 to August 30th 2005 I worked for Stabbert Maritime aboard the R/V Ocean Guardian in North East Alaska. I was employed as a deck hand. This was a short, 60 day contract that actually ended early due to the vessel needing maintenance.

From April of 2005 to July of 2005 I worked for Cruise West aboard the passenger vessel M/V Spirit of Alaska working in South East Alaska as a “Licensed Deck Hand”. My duties include standing watch, cleaning, chipping, painting, safety rounds and operating inflatable boats during passenger operations.

From April of 2003 until April of 2005 worked for Fantasy Cruises aboard the 130 foot M/V Island Spirit. I started as a deckhand and then worked as the second Captain. I have been responsible for vessel maintenance, operating the shore boat, conducting kayak operations with the passengers and many other duties. The Island Spirit is a 32 passenger small cruise ship operating in the San Juan Islands and British Columbia.

From May of 2002 until September 2002 I worked aboard the M/V Wilderness Discoverer. I was employed as a deckhand and also worked with the engineering department on various projects. I also stood bridge watch and assisted with kayak operations.

June 2000 I worked as an engineer aboard the M/V Pelican, a 78 foot salmon tender in Bristol Bay Alaska. The vessel was owned and operated by Wards Cove Packing. The salmon season lasts only 45 days so this was a fairly short job.
Education:
Associates Degree in Maritime Sciences from Clatsop Community College in Astoria, Oregon. Curriculum consisted of navigation, watch keeping, marine electronics, vessel and personal safety and many other aspects of the maritime field. Three days a week were conducted aboard the schools training vessel M/V ForeRunner a 50 foot steel hulled trawling vessel.
