ISLAND MARINER CRUISES, Bellingham, WA. May 2002 until September 2002. Operated whale watching charter vessel as Captain.

ELLIOTT BAY YACHTING CENTER, Seattle, Washington 1998 to 2001

FLEET MANAGER/OPERATIONS MANAGER – Managed all operations for the nation’s leading leisure yacht leasing company. Reported directly to owner. Assured proper care and leasing of a 100-vessel fleet located in Seattle and Anacortes. Hired, trained, and supervised captains to provide requisite training to clients prior to their taking possession of the vessels.

Assured all vessels were in compliance with Coast Guard and maritime regulations. Resolved problems with vessel owners, clients, and other parties. Coordinated rescue and damage repair.

SENIOR CAPTAIN – Managed all operations of a 90-foot 150-passenger vessel throughout the Puget Sound, Canadian, and regional rivers. Conducted educational cruises and provided informative programs and presentations. Trained and supervised crew. Assured all systems were maintained and operational. Navigated potentially hazardous routes and maintained a 100% safety record. Immediately resolved passenger and operating problems and concerns. Sprit Cruises, Spirit of Puget Sound, Seattle, Washington 1990 to 1992

OPERATIONS MANAGER – Directed all operations of this daily entertainment and charter cruise company. Hired trained and supervised a management team with a combined 70-person workforce. Developed and implemented annual operating budget. Created and implemented policies, procedures and operations manuals to comply with all regulations. Effectively scheduled and navigated various routes throughout the Northwest. Assured systems were operational and well maintained. Reported directly to General Manager. Consistently provided safe and enjoyable events for up to 600 passengers. Won corporate Manager of the Year (Seattle) award for managing the most efficient operation in the fleet.

Skils


Several years as Master aboard passenger vessels up to 200 feet. I have tug experience and research vessel experience. I have worked in the fishing industry on large fish processors as process foreman, and operated electric and hydralic cranes, forklifts, and equipment associated with processing. Assisted in building of sail vessel in England, then worked as crew delivering power and sail vessels around the continent out of England for 4 years. Received British Yachtmasters License there.
