Reference: Captain Ian Cardno - Offshore Construction Marine Representative - Lunskoye A Engineering Operations
Ian Cardno was contracted in 2007 and 2008 as SEIC Offshore Marine representative for operations at the Offshore Installation, Lunskoye ‘A’, east coast Sakhalin, Russia.
Ian was required to represent the responsibilities of SEIC Marine department within the Engineering group who were tasked with management of Works on the newly installed topsides of LUN-A.
His duties involved the initial vessel inspections and readiness including management of the approval process from Singapore to Sakhalin, mobilisation of the Flotel(s) and associated tow and anchor handling vessels, mobilisation to site and mooring at the Installation, and subsequent vessel and personnel transfer operations.
The remoteness and climate of the Sakhalin offshore operations as well the onerous and changing administrative environment required particular attention to logistics to ensure a safe and successful operation.
Ian carried out his role in a very professional and efficient manner with attention to the standards and procedures required to implement and conform to. He also demonstrated initiative when confronted by circumstances, which required positive and safe decisions.
His ability and thoroughness permitted the SEIC Marine department to have total confidence in managing the Installation Marine operations.
I have no hesitation in recommending Ian as a very professional Mariner for Offshore Marine operations.
