Responsibilities included: Safe operation of supply boats servicing rigs and platforms in Trinidadian, Mexican, and US GOM waters. Training of vessel crew members. Chart and publication corrections from USCG “Notice to Mariners”. Responsibilities included: safe operation of tugs assisting ships docking and sailing in New York, Portland, and Norfolk, Training of crew members, Chart and publication corrections from USCG “Notice to Mariners”,

Responsibilities included: safe operation tugs assisting ships docking and sailing in the Delaware Bay and River and Baltimore, MD, Training of crew members, Chart and publication corrections from USCG “Notice to Mariners”, Administrative tasks implementing and keeping records of compliance with, state and federal regulations, Plan, direct, and participate in vessel maintenance & repair

Co-lateral duties; responsible for the inspection, inventory, & maintenance of ship’s firefighting and lifesaving equipment.



03/88-04/91; Also during that period, Mate and deckhand on various factory trawlers and seafood processor ships working in the Bering Sea, Gulf of Alaska, and North Pacific Ocean.



01/86-03/88; LPG Terminal Operator for Sea-3 LPG Marine Terminal, Newington, NH. Responsible for the safe handling, transfer, and storage of bulk quantities of LPG. Prepare bills of lading for truck and rail shipments. Complete regularly scheduled tasks in a Preventative Maintenence System. Perform nightly audits.



08/84-01/86; Mate on various tugs for Berg Boat Co., Wilmington, DE on inland, coastwise and foreign tows.



01/84-08/84; LPG Terminal Operator Dorchester Sea-3 LPG Marine Terminal in Newington, NH. Responsible for the safe handling, transfer, and storage of bulk quantities of LPG. Prepare bills of lading for truck and rail shipments. Complete regularly scheduled tasks in a Preventative Maintenence System.

04/81-03/83; Third Mate on vessels affiliated MM&P on coastwise voyages. Person-in-Charge navigation/fire & security watches at sea/Cargo/fire & security watches in port. Co-lateral duties; responsible for the inspection, inventory, & maintenance of ship’s firefighting and lifesaving equipment.

EDUCATION:

• Bachelor of Science degree in Nautical Science from Maine Maritime Academy, Castine, Me.

• USN and MSC training courses; Firefighting and Damage Control, SURTASS/T-AGOS, Shipboard/Helicopter Operations, and Small Arms & Shipboard Security. Tankerman PIC courses from SUNY. STCW courses from STAR Ctr, Dania Beach, FL. ISO/ISM Cert. from SmartShips Program.

• USCG licensed deck officer: Master; 1600 gross tons upon oceans, Master of towing vessels & USCG designated TOAR evaluator, Third Mate; any gross tons upon oceans, Barge Supervisor. Also Radar Observer; any gross tons.

• Merchant Mariner’s Document; Able bodied seaman-unlimited./Tankerman PIC-tankship (Dangerous Liquids, Basic & Advanced Firefighting)

• Marine Radio Permit/GMDSS Operator

• US Passport

• Maine Driver’s License

• STCW 95 Certificate (Bridge Resource Mgmt, ARPA, & etc.)

SUMMARY OF QUALIFICATIONS:

• Competent to navigate anywhere in the world using any means.

• Experienced at charting courses, keeping voyage spreadsheets, and updating charts & publications from corrections in USCG’s “ Notice to Mariners”. Also ISO/ISM administrative tasks.

• Skilled ship handler of single, twin, triple, and quad-screwed, Voit-Schneider & Reverse Z-drive propelled vessels from 30 to 800 feet in length in a wide variety of applications.

• Accumulated 3 years experience as LPG Marine Terminal Operator performing operational, administrative, and maintenance duties involving the transfer, storage, and safety of large bulk quantities of liquified propane.

• Obtained “Top Secret” security clearance for employment on USN/MSC contract vessels.

• Over 20 years experience, both hands-on and in a supervisory capacity, in an extremely hazardous profession in, at times, harsh and remote environments.


 


EXPERIENCE:

• Oilfield Service Vessels; 4 years experience as Captain and Mate aboard crewboats, utility boats, and supply boats in inland, coastal, ocean, and foreign waters. Also made 2 deliveries between Morgan City, La. And West Africa.

• Tugs, Tow, and Tanker Assist/OSRV Vessels; 5 years experience as Captain and Mate working in the waters of the US East & Gulf Coasts, the Hawaiian Islands, Caribbean Sea, and Nigeria.

• Tankers, Freighters, and Seismic Vessels: 8 years experience as Second and Third Officer on various vessels engaged in coastwise and foreign trade.

• Fishing Industry Vessels: 3 years experience as Mate & Deckhand on factory trawlers & processing ships in the Bering Sea and Gulf of Alaska as well as small trawlers, lobster and dive fishery vessels in the Gulf of Maine and Atlantic Ocean.

• Sea-3 LPG Marine Terminal, Newington, N.H.: 3 years experience as Terminal Operator

• Hospitality Industry: 2 years experience as bartender, bar manager, 6 years experience as Tourboat Captain, with various establishments in Maine and Vermont
