Master Unlimited, DP Unlimited of DRILL vessel DP2

Objective

I hereby apply for a captain’s position on any offshore vessel.

Experience

I hold an Unlimited Master’s and DP certificate. I have got Norwegian, Bahamas, St.Vincent and Isle of Man endorsements of Unlimited Master’s licence.

Currently I’m employed as a Master on a DRILL ship “The Explorer” equipped with: two main engine with two pitch propeller, 3 x azimuth (aquamaster) thrusters (2 forward and 1 aft) and stern tunnel thruster. Everything connected in DP2 class Kongsberg – K-Pos system. In the same company I was also a Master on board of an offshore vessel with ROV/4 point mooring, equipped with DP2 class too. I have over 3000 hours and more than one year experience on DP2. Unfortunately the period of work on board of my vessel is lengthened all the time. This is the reason why I’m looking for a new company where I could work for many years. I need much more stability of work. This is very important for me.

I have additional offshore experience. I was a Master on board of a vessel in my previous company. It was a passenger expedition yacht "Wisting" equipped with a diesel electric motor and an azimuth bow thruster connected with DP1 system. I brought this vessel from Genoa to La Rochelle with passengers on board. During this time I was entering, manoeuvring and leaving many European ports without a pilot.

In 2001 I was a C/O on the dredger “Kwinte Bank” in the Port of Rotterdam. We dredged the anchorage on Mass Approach and discharged sand in the center of the port, in the basin of Frisohaven. I had to manoeuvre twice a day and I got the Pilot Exemption in the Port of Rotterdam.

I have experience on both roro and passenger vessels. I have been working on different ferries in Polferries as a safety officer for many years . I was responsible for the safety of 2000 passengers all the time. Every summer during my work in Polferries I was also a Master on a small passenger vessel "Viking II" for 100 passengers in the Port of Gdynia and Gdansk. I manoeuvred seven, eight times per day. In connection with it I got a pilot exemption in the above-mentioned ports.

From January 2005 till December 2008 I was working on special design Lolo - sidedoore vessels as a senior C/O. We carried paper from Sweden to Amsterdam via Kiel Canal every week. In connection with it I took part in the pilotage in Swedish ports Hallstavik and Braviken. I finished all my coaching programmes (including NIS Rules and Regulation Course – Norwegian Maritime Law, Ship Handling Course, AMOS, manoeuvring on board, paper work etc.).

As a captain I am considered to be very skillful and experienced in manoeuvring. This is my passion. I like my job very much, especially manoeuvring on different types of ships. During my work as a captain and C/O I had to manoeuvre myself every day. This was the reason why I made the Course of Practical Training in Handling of Large Ships and Ships with Unusual Manoeuvring Characteristics
