Obtain a senior sea going position on most any type of ship.I am flexible as to where having no family ties. Prefer permanent work but would consider short term contracts in back in oil offshore boats
Experience
Cadetship 65-69 with Ben Line Steamers of Scotland.Passed 2nd mates and sailed as deck officer with Salvesens, Port Line, Shaw Savill and coastal tankers before immigrating to NZ in 1974. Sailed as 3rd, 2nd and 1st mate with Maritime Carriers then NZ Shipping Corp. until 1987. Passed NZ Foreign Going Masters [Class 1] in 1979.[Revalidated in 2003] Worked as a Marine surveyor with Dunsford Marine 1987-1989. Was appointed as harbour master at Taupo from 1989-2002. This work was very diverse and included salvage and mooring work. Joined Tokelau Transport Corp. in 2002 as senior master and acting marine super. Served on passenger/ cargo vessels on international trade in the Pacific. Personally undertook the installation of numerous deep water moorings on several atols.Left in Dec 2008 and completed 2 swings on an anchor handler/oil rig supply vessel in the Bass Strait. Contract ran out so currently looking for work. Have worked on Seismic survey, container,LPG Vessels as well as those named above.

NZ Masters Class 1 GMDSS Full STCW 95 upgrades [all recent[ Current Aus and NZ approved seagoing medical certs.
Skils
Very skilled and experienced ship handler. Certified SCUBA diver. Good people and negotiating skills.
