Master on Vessels, Health and Safety

Objective


After having worked over 9yrs in the Maritime industry I am now looking to diversify into the Offshore Oil and Gas Industry either in the Marine Department or Health and Safety


Experience


2011 - Radio Operator/ Trainee STS ( safety training supervisor )



Currently stationed offshore on a drilling rig .In charge of all radio and satellite communications on board. Preparing flight manifests and coordinating with helicopter operations. Assisting STS on safety matters and organizing stop card system. Organizing POB and coordinating crew changes from shore.



09/2009 – 06/2010 Refit Engineer on Motor Yacht Amels 75 Meter



Over all supervision of works carried out within the engine room during refit.

Monitoring and supervising of sub-contracting works and employees.

Introducing and enhancing Health and Safety equipment on board and ensuring all related material is of standard and in line with IMO regulations.



01/2008 – 05/2009 Master / Engineer on Pilot Boats



Duties included transporting pilots to & fro various vessels, within & outside the harbor.

Routine and daily maintenance on board and regular checks in engine room.



02/2007 – 09/2007 Instructor B.O.S.I.E.T / F.O.E.T



Instructor at an international safety training center whereby I had to teach various Oil Rig employees Fire Fighting, First Aid, Helicopter Evacuation, Sea Survival and the use of Breathing Apparatus.

It was also my responsibility to brief all employees going on board an off shore installation about the importance of Health & Safety in their line of work.



09/2006 – 05/2007 Master Offshore on Supply Boats



Captain on board Supply/ Tug boats working in North Africa with an offshore installation.

Work included maneuvering the vessel, towing of jack up barge, anchor handling, running on board operations, managing the crew and keeping inline with all the required safety regulations.



09/2005 – 08/2006 Master on Supply / Tug Boats



Captain on Tug , Supply and Ro/Ro

Main duties consisted of maneuvering the vessel, administering the day to day operations on board, implementing safety measures and other related work for the safe running of the ship.



10/2003 – 08/2005 Fleet Manager



Responsibilities included overseeing the safe running of all boats before leaving harbor, head count of all passengers, making sure safety briefing is being understood by both passengers and crew. During the shoulder months, I was in charge of all maintenance and responsible for the engagement of the work force.

I am currently employed on a drilling rig as a Radio Operator and I also assist the Safety Training Supervisor in his everyday duties, since I hold a NEBOSH International Health and Safety Certification.



I consider myself being a mature, energetic, positive individual who loves new challenges, and strives to achieve and exceed goals and ambitions. I am a strong team player and very hard working.



My previous work experiences have given me the knowledge and skills to easily adapt and be flexible, and work well under pressure. I strongly believe in perseverance and now, that I have achieved experience and qualifications in my line of work, I would like to establish myself further in a future career.



My professional approach in my line of duty is of great importance to me as much as it is to my employer and it is my ambition to be engaged in a position where my previous experiences and expertise would prove to be an asset to my employer and to my fellow colleagues.
