Responsible for the management of the safety and security team on board, and ensuring the vessels full compliance at all times as per the regulations of the SOLAS, ISPS Code and Ships Security Plan, including maintaining records, ensuring the safety and security equipment remains operational through arranging servicing, repair or calibration as necessary via Head Office, timely sending of safety and security pre arrival information for each port of call, and liaising with Port Facility Security Officers (PFSO).

Providing written reports on all ports of call to the Company Security Officer (CSO), and end of cruise reports for the Command.

Responsible for maintaining crew discipline as per the company policy including attending all Captain’s Courts, and investigating and reporting on any incidents or accidents involving passengers or crew.

Providing Safety and Security Awareness training for all new and returning crew.

Responsible for the safe navigation of the ship and its overall stability and seaworthiness.

Responsible for the cargo handling and stowage, preparing cargo plan, controlling the operation of the ship and care for persons on board.
