Responsibilities:
- supervising the conversion works;
- deciding and supervising the repair and maintenance works;
- ensuring that all the agreed works and prices remain within the estimated budget:
- steel works inspection, ensuring all the right procedures and drawings are being followed;
- quality control;
- negotiating with the shipyard the repair and conversion works prices;
- tank cleaning supervision in order to prepare for hot work;
- risk assessment of all activities on board the ship for both shipyard workers and crew;
- liaison between the Owners and other parties (class, shipyard);
- dealing with the foreign authorities, agents, charterers

Zodiac Romania Representative Office Manager, August 2005 – March 2008
Zodiac Romania provides officers for Zodiac Maritime Agencies Ltd. managed ships.
Responsibilities:
- recruiting new officers;
- training the existing personnel;
- ensuring their required documents are kept up to date;
- liaison between the London Head Office and Romanian personnel;
- recruiting and training the University graduates;
- assisting the Captains on board Zodiac vessels calling at Romanian ports.

Ship operator, February 2005 – August 2005
Responsibilities:
As a ship operator I had under my supervision 12 Cape Size bulk carriers.
- instructing the Masters according to the relevant Charter Parties;
- contacting the charterers, vessels, agents, bunker brokers and other parties;
- appointing agents for the managed vessels in every port of call;
- checking and approving the D.A. and other expenses;
- monitoring vessels en-route, ensuring that everything goes according to the relevant C/P.
I was approved by the management to move to London and remain there permanently, however there was an opening as manager of the Romanian Representative Office and I was offered this position.

Naval Academy, Constanta, Romania, graduated in 1987.
Graduated as 3-rd Mate and worked my way up to Captain and Superintendent position.
Certification
Master Mariner, licence obtained in 2000.

- Problem solver, extensive technical experience especially in cost effective management;
- Safety conscious: experience in spotting potentially dangerous activities and finding solutions to maintain the safety of the people and ship;
- Basic legal/insurances experience, maritime law is a field I enjoyed studying on my own. Investigating incidents or accidents, case studies it's something I considered worth learning;
- Very good with computers, MS Office (Word, Excel, Power Point), Internet and computer peripherals;
- Experience in reducing costs and activities that can save money on short and long term;
- Very easy learning anything (engines, other machinery). My sea service and shipyard time proved a very nice environment for learning;
- Willing to accept more work and responsibilities, being workaholic.
