Objective
I am in search of a shore based job in marine industry, mainly focusing on HSEQ, Internal/External audits. Having completed a Lead Auditors course with DNV I am interested in a job which broaden's my horizon in this direction. I have experience in carrying out pre-vetting inspections, this gave me a good base for HSEQ process, based on ISO/ISM.

The journey as a mariner in the past has been very interesting rather than the result of becoming a Master Mariner.
I completed cadetship on 2 vessel’s without taking a break and continued to sail for 33 months to complete my sea time for 2nd mate’ s exams. As a 2nd mate 60 months actual sailing time on different type of vessels tramping all over the world and experience as tanker Chief Mate (34 months actual sailing time). In command 21 months actual sailing time on Product tankers and aframax crude oil tanker.
1991 to 1997
Parent company SNP Ship management where I completed my cadet training and subsequently sailed as an officer on several multipurpose general cargo ships and bulk carriers until 1997.
1998 to 2008
Joined Selandia Marine Services India and climbed the ladder upto Master’s Rank,worked on various types of OBO’s, Product tankers and crude oil tankers . In between I changed over to Anglo Eastern Ship Management to get VLCC experience and also worked on larger Capesize bulk carriers with them.
I also worked as a Quality Control Officer for steel renewal in a dry dock assisting the Superintendent with extensive steel work at COSCO shipyard, Dalian. The job involved condition monitoring assessment and quality check of major longitudinal bulkhead steel renewal plates at each stage of fitting, gouging, welding and Radiography/Vacuum test/X-Ray test. All this was carried out at sub-zero temperatures.
2007 Onwards - Command experience of loading, discharging in Arabian gulf, Indian subcontinent, Far east, Suez canal transit.
Vetting inspections by Conoco Philips,BP, BHP, and Shell.
Port State Control’s (Paris MOU), AMSA, USCG inspection Annual Surveys, CAP Surveys, Dry dock.

In 2006 was visiting Faculty for IMI Noida, a Cadet training academy and was involved in teaching Cargo work and Tanker work to Cadets. This job was taken up by me when I was a Chief Officer and continued to do it whenever on leave.
In late 2007 and 2008 I have been involved in Quality assessment / Pre-Vetting Inspection / Onboard Training and New Take over and HSSEQ setup. Pre-Vetting Inspections for Thome Ship Management / OSG Ship Management. I am a very effective trainer.
I have always believed in passing on the Legacy of vast experience at sea to my Juniors as we were passed the batton by our Seniors and we learned from them. To augment my belief I carry out Onboard trainings when I am sailing as Master too. To Sum up with the famous writer Steven Covey’s words “Give the man a fish you feed him for a day, teach him how to fish you feed him for a lifetime”.
