JOB DESCRIPTION AS A MASTER MARINER:

• Responsible for onboard implementation of Company’s Safety and Environmental Protection Policy;

• Encourage and motivate the crew to observe and practice safety awareness culture onboard the vessel;

• Motivate the crew to observe protection of marine environment;

• Responsible for safe, efficient and economical operation of the vessel;

• Responsible for harmonious departmental inter-relation onboard by issuing appropriate orders and instructions in a clear and simple manner;

• Responsible for verifying that specified statutory and other (flag/administration/Port State/classification, etc) requirements are observed;

• Responsible for reviewing the Company Safety Management System and reporting it’s deficiencies to the Company through the required Master’s Review;

• Responsible for crew continuous training onboard with regards to safety, security and onboard maintenance;

• Prepared vessel for statutory survey, Class Surveys, Initial Shipboard Safety Management System Audits, ISPS Audits, USCG COC Exam, AMSA Safety Inspections and other Regional Port State Control Inspections;

• Responsible for the proper maintenance of the vessel and attended dry-docking and repairs of several vessels;

• Being also at the same time a Ship Security Officer; responsible for the implementation of security measures onboard, proper coordination with the contracting government’s security measures, communicating and making report to the contracting government, Company Security Officer on matter concerning security;

• Responsible for safe navigation of the vessel;

• Directed & supervised loading, carriage of cargo and discharging of cargo; may delegate those duties to the responsible Officer while maintaining close supervision.
