Experience
I have 15 years of deep sea experience and 9 years of experience in offshore marine operations. I have been working for Shell since June 1998. At present present I am working for Shell Venezuela as Marine Operations Supervisor.
Responsibilities
1.HSE Responsibilities
·An HSE focused position, with operational responsibility for safe offshore Marine operations
·Implementation of Marine Competence Assurance program
·Prequalification and operational HSE audits of Marine contractors and Equipment
2.Marine Standards and Inspections
·Pre-tender qualification of contractors and in-service verification of performance for Marine Logistics Contracts and for cross-functional contracts
·To establish and verify operational procedures to permit marine services to be conducted safely and adequately
·To apply the existing Marine Procedures, conduct offshore audits, prepare action plans and modified procedures for incorporation into updates of existing documents
3.Contractor liason for all marine vessel contracts
·Contractor liaison on marine operational and HSE matters
·Development of Contractors and personnel to provide required marine services to all functions of SVSA
·The Administation and assessment of Marine Competence Assurance system of Contractor Captains and staff
4.Marine Operations
·Responsible for the operational safety in executing Passenger transport (17000 personnel movements per year), material transport (6000 tonnes per year for production activities), hazardous waste, all aspects of Rigmoves, Well Service liftboat moves, diving survey requirements, barge mooring and anchoring, shutdown logistical activities
·Cross functional advice to, and authorisation of, engineering, construction, well services and maintenance marine activities, and approval of all anchor and mooring operations, and Liftboat locations
·Deployment and maintenance of oilspill equipment and training of personnel.
·Management of SVSA mooring equipment, deployment and routine inspections of mooring equipment in the SVSA field
5.Marine publications and procedures
·Compilation of amendments and corrections identified for update of Procedures
·Final approval of the Spanish language versions of all SVSA issued Marine documentation
·Marine Notices - to instigate notices where required and translate into Spanish
·Marine Competence Tests formulation
6.Optimisation of Company marine assets
·Conduct marine inspections on behalf of third parties including STASCO and other Shell OpCos.
I was working for Brunei Shell Petroleum Co. from Feb 2001 until June 2005. I was Berthing Master at Seria SBMs, providing pilotage services on behalf of Brunei Shell Petroleum (BSP) to tankers loading at the two single buoy moorings as well as Berthing Master at BLNG Lumut, providing pilotage services on behalf of BLNG to LNG carriers loading at the offshore berth. I berthed about 110 oil tankers and 98 LNG carriers.
