Canadian Coast Guard - Chief Mate Onboard
-Maintained independent navigations watch
-Operate/maintain fast rescue craft (FRC)
-Assist Armed Fisheries Officers in the preformance of their inspections and enforccement duties
-Ensure shipboard safety management systems is fully implemented
-inspect and maintain emergency response equipment to ensure readiness & international compliance
-Maintan and safely operate ship's equipment such as crane, windlass and mooring lines.

-Work aboard Aframax Oil Tankers, foreign going voyages
-Maintain safe independent Navigational Watch
-Prepare/ execute passage plans
-Complete Official Log Books and Custom & Immigration documentation
-Repair / maintain variety of firefighting and life-saving appliances
-Independent watchkeeper during loading and unloading oil
-Preform calculations on ships stability / stresses, and monitore / adjust temperature of cargo
-Assist with dry dock preperations and procedures
-Ensure thorough knowledge / application of SOLAS, MARPOL, USCG REGS., Canadian/Internationl COLDREGS, Bouyage System, STCW, IMDG Code, Code of Safe Working Practices, ISM and other IMO publications
