Objective
I am looking to start a second career outside of sailing. I would like a maritime related field such as maritime instructor or port captain.
Experience
8 Years Master of Great Lakes Vessels over 12,000 GRT
6 Years Chief Mate, and 10 years as junior officer & Pilot.
Towing experience, traditional and western rivers, prior to enactment of new towing endorsement requirements. 3 years unlicensed experience in Offshore Oil exploration. 1 year small passenger experience. Naval Reserve Officer - 8 years.
Education
Graduate Great Lakes Maritime Academy Northwestern Michigan College. Associate of applied Science - Maritime Degree
Certification
USCG License Master Great lakes and Inland. First Class Pilot between Duluth Gary Buffalo and Port Weller and Cape Vincent. Oceans Third Mate unlimited. Radar Observer Unlimited.
STCW Certified.
USCG Approved instructor for Able Seaman Training
Skils
Shiphanding; Close quarters, docking, locking, harbors & rivers with and without tug assist, single and twin screw, with bow thruster. Piloting. Ships management. Ships maintenence. Rigger; include wire rope splicing and socket pouring. 1 year experience as Roughneck, 4 years as deckhand and able seaman.
Currently AMO Member looking for onshore employment.
