Master 100,000 Deadweight Tankers

Objective


I wish to work in a shore based environment, giving a work related performance that more than meets the company's expectations. I would also hope for job satisfaction and the knowledge of a job well done.


Experience


§ CHIEF MATE (1993/4) MASTER, (1994-Present.) The Hanseatic Shipping Company. (8 x 100K DWT SBT Lakemax Tankers) Served on these from new delivery in Ulsan, Korea. These ships have been trading mainly between Venezuela/Mexico to US Gulf/Eastern seaboard ports. & Europe, with Lightering duties in the Gulf of Mexico as required. I have carried out ISPS implementation on these Vessels, have also participated in frequent Vetting inspections, ISM & ISO Audits.



§ CHIEF MATE, Esso International Shipping 1988-1993. (VLCC, ULCCs) Participated in the breakout of these vessels from lay-up and subsequent steel survey/Drydock work. Trading pattern was mainly Persian Gulf to the US, Europe & Far East, with frequent Lightering operations.



§ 2ND OFFICER/CHIEF MATE, Northern Marine. 1981-1988. (Ro-Ro & Tankers)



§ 3RD/2ND OFFICER, The Ellerman Wilson Line (Transport Division.) 1975-1981. (Ro-Ro & Fishery Support v/l)



§ 3RD OFFICER, Scottish Ship Management 1973-1975. (Bulk Carriers.)



§ DECK CADET/3RD OFFICER, The Ben Line 1968-1972. (General Cargo & Container ships.)


Education


1962-1966 Mirfield Secondary Modern School. UK

1966-1968 Boulevard Nautical School. Hull. UK


Certification


I took all my Seagoing Certificates at the above School, finally attaining Masters FG Class 1. I also have a Higher National Diploma in Nautical Sciences, with a distinction in Meteorology.


Skils


Master of a Large Tanker. taking it safely & efficiently from point A to point B. This included day to day running of the Ship, Crew Training in Safety procedures, Quality Assurance, Security (ISPS.) & Environmental Issues.
