I am an enthusiastic and dedicated professional with extensive experience sailing on board ships. An exceptional leader who is able to develop and motivate others to achieve targets, I can demonstrate a strong ability to manage projects from conception through to successful completion. A proactive individual with a logical approach to challenges, I perform effectively even within a highly pressurised working environment.
I am now looking to progress to Master’s position within the shipping industry. I am therefore keen to find a new and suitably challenging role within a market-leading organisation.

Reefer Container vessel plying on a liner trade between Antwerp – San Juan – Caribbean. I was planning the stowage of containers on board and the stowage of reefer cargo in bulk (bananas and pineapples) on board. Implemented company SMS on board and successfully completed the following audits and inspections on board – Class annuals, PSC Europe, PSC USCG, Internal Audit. Worked with multiple nationalities on board drawn from Asia, Europe and South America.
Wilhemsen – M.V. MSC Benedetta – Cellular Container – July 2007 – Nov 2007
5050 TEU cellular container vessel trading between ports in Europe – Las Palmas – South Africa. Took over vessel on behalf on new owners and management. Sailed parallel with outgoing crew. Implemented new SMS on board and trained incoming crew and officers, none of whom had sailed on a container vessel prior this ship. Successfully completed class Initial audit, change of flag, internal audit, PSC Europe, PSC South Africa. Prepared checklists and procedures on board for all functions / situations and training of officers and crew. Worked with multiple nationalities on board drawn from Asia and Europe.

Cellular container vessel plying between ports in North Europe – Mediterranean – Suez – Colombo – Singapore – Australia – New Zealand. Handed over vessel to new management at end of tenure on board. Prepared vessel for handover. Successfully completed Class annuals, Internal Audit, PSC AMSA, PSC Europe and new management inspections.

Cellular container vessel plying between Montreal – Antwerp – Hamburg. Vessel was on a liner trade crossing north atlantic in winter season. I gained experience on board handling the vessel in rough weather and in ice conditions in the St. Lawrence river. Oversaw permanent repairs to major damage to longitudinal box girders. Successfully completed Class annual, internal audit, PSC Canada, PSC Europe and P&I club inspection on board. Worked with multiple nationalities on board drawn from Asia and UK.
