2002 thru '07 - CROWLEY - Master, Operating ATBs - 9000+ HP/150,000-185,000 BBL - Very familiar w/systems new to Petroleum Barge Industry, ie Inert Gas, Vapor Recovery, Radar Guaging, Computer Load Planning, Segregated Ballast & Ballast Exchange
1997 thru 2001 - MORAN - New York - Master, Tugs - Working 4000-6000 HP tugs w/ deep notch oil & bulk cargo barges on E. Coast, Gulf of Mexico, Caribbean ; Ship towing, Harbor work [ship assist & barge shifting]
1980 thru '96 - CROWLEY - Long Beach, CA - Tug Captain - Hired as First Mate for harbor work and coastwise towing. Promoted to Capt. in 1981, working 2000-5000 HP single & twin screw tugs. By 1984, became Capt. of 6000-9000 HP tugs responsible for ocean towing 400'X 100' deck barges, 125,000 BBL oil barges, ships, jack-up rigs, US Navy vessels as target tows. Retrieved and transferred tows at sea; Tandem tows; Panama Canal transits.
1971 - '73 - US Army - Norfolk, VA & Far East - Quartermaster - Trained on-the-job in small boat handling w/ tugs and landing craft. Navigator on salvage tug in Far East; towing marin construction equip.,other vessels, and barges in tandem.

Studied Oceanography, Navigation, and Seamanship in the classroom and on Research Vessels while atteding Cape Fear Tech. Inst., Wilmington, NC
Completed High School at Camden Military Acad., Camden, SC
Certification
Master - 1600 T - Oceans [also Towing - Oceans & W. Rivers ]; First Class Pilot (LA/LB & Appr.); Radar Obs.(Unl.); STCW ; GMDSS - Shipyard Competent Person ,VSO ; BRM , Drug/Alcohol Training up to date

Qualified Pilot and experienced Docking Master - Skilled in Maneuvering vessels/tows in & out of port ; to/from docks & moorings - Extensive experience training & managing crews using heavy equipment in all conditions - Shipyard experience bringing new vessels into service
