U.S Coast Guard Chief Warrant Officer (CWO4) Retired in 2010 after 31 Years of service.



Summary of Accomplishments:

Program Management: Commanding Officer of 4 large Coast Guard Stations, 4 station facilities and one large Coast Guard Housing area in Jupiter, Fl, located at the Jupiter lighthouse (11 Homes) worth over 20 million dollars and in the Coast Guard’s busiest district. Analyzed boat operational and maintenance trends, facility casualty reports, and unit master plans, to effectively allocate limited financial resources to meet highest priorities. Developed a safe boating program that issued free Ice Cream coupons to kids that were wearing their Lifejacket while on a vessel, it is now a national program.

Interagency Experience: Leader among interagency partners to establish organizational framework among federal, state and local government agencies to complete several high level security and environmentally sensitive waterway projects throughout Southern Florida, including G8 Summit, Presidential visits, Super Bowl, Coral Reef Protection Project, and Lake Okeechobee and Miami River cleanup efforts. Key Coast Guard representative in negotiations with the Bahamian government for interagency and international Law Enforcement efforts leading to the authorization of other agencies embarking on CG vessels broadening the Law Enforcement jurisdiction. Plans other agencies/services visits to Key West, all logistical aspects that relate to Port Services.

Financial Management: Successfully managed 600K annual station budget and managed a 20 million dollar CG housing area. Developed spend plans to meet maintenance schedules and manage customers expectations, providing a valuable service to the public with very minimal funds.
